IN THE MANIFESTATION OF THE POWER THAT LIGHTENS THE EARTH WITH ITS GLORY, they will see only SOMETHING which in their blindness THEY THINK DANGEROUS, SOMETHING WHICH WILL AROUSE THEIR FEARS, and (they) will brace themselves to resist it. Because Y'hovah does not work according to their expectations and ideas, they will oppose the work. It is always to remain uncontaminated by the fallacies by which Satan seeks to deceive, if possible, the very elect. The proclamation of the GOSPEL is the only means in which Elohim can employ human beings as His instrumentalities for the salvation of souls. As men, women, and children proclaim the gospel, Y'hovah will OPEN THE EYES OF THE BLIND to see His STATUTES, and will write upon the hearts of the TRULY PENITENT His LAW. The animating Spirit of Elohim, working through human agencies, leads the believers to be of one mind, one soul, unitedly loving Elohim and keeping His COMMANDMENTS--PREPARING HERE BELOW FOR TRANSLATION. ...We must not wait for the LATTER RAIN. It is coming upon all who will recognize and appropriate the DEW and SHOWERS of GRACE that FALL UPON US. people from the pillar of cloud, telling them what they must do, and what Elohim would do for them. "If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of Y'hovah thine Elohim," He said, "and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am Y'hovah that healeth thee." Ex. 15:26. The Messiah gave to Israel definite instruction in regard to their habits of life, and He assured them, "Y'hovah will take away from thee all sickness." Deut. 7:15. We stand as the remnant people in these last days to promulgate the truth and swell the cry of the third angel's wonderful distinct message, giving the trumpet a certain sound. Eternal Truth, which we have adhered to from the beginning, is to be maintained in all its increasing importance to the close of probation. The trumpet is to give no uncertain sound. We must DEVISE AND PLAN WISELY, PRACTICING SIMPLICITY and the STRICTEST ECONOMY and MANIFESTING THE MESSIAH'S LIKENESS OF CHARACTER. Faith, eternal faith in the PAST and in THE PRESENT TRUTH is to be talked, is to be prayed, is to be presented with pen and voice.

The third angel's message in its clear, definite terms is to be made the prominent warning. All that it comprehends is to be made intelligible to the reasoning minds of today. While we bind ourselves to the development of the truth in the past angels' messages, we are announcing the message of the third angel and of the OTHER ANGEL THAT FOLLOWS the third, THE SECOND TIME PROCLAIMING THE FALL OF BABYLON.

We are to give the message, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. . . . Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues" (Revelation 18:1,4). This message is to come to the churches. We are to consider the best plans for accomplishing this. The message must be so presented as to command the attention of reasoning minds.

These SACRED TRUTHS, believed and practiced, are not to be carried in any coercive manner, but in the spirit of the Master. The Holy Spirit will reach noble minds and the better spirit of men. In all our sanitariums there should be men who understand the doctrine of truth and who can present it by pen and voice. They will be brought in contact with men of no mean minds, and they should plead with them as they would plead with an only son. It should be our aim, saith Y'hovah, not to put in responsible positions of trust men who are not fitted by experience, men who do not take deep views of Scripture truth.

Many suppose that appearance and style and pretense are to do a great work in reaching the higher classes. But this is an error. These persons can read these things. Appearance has something, yes, much to do with the impressions made upon minds, but the appearance must be after a Elohimly sort. Let it be seen that the workers are bound up with Elohim and heaven. There should be no striving for recognition by worldly men in order to give character and influence to the work in these last days. Consistency is a jewel. Our faith, our dress, and our deportment must be in harmony with the character of our work, the presentation of the most solemn message ever given to the world. OUR WORK IS TO WIN MEN TO BELIEF OF THE TRUTH, to win by preaching and by example, also by living Elohimly lives. THE TRUTH IN ALL ITS BEARINGS IS TO BE ACTED, SHOWING THE CONSISTENCY OF FAITH WITH PRACTICE. The value of our faith will be shown by its fruit. Y'hovah can and will impress men by our intense earnestness. Our dress, our deportment, our conversation and the depth of a growing experience in spiritual lines, all are to show that the great principles of truth we are handling are a reality to us. Thus the truth is to be made impressive as a great whole and command the intellect. Truth, Scripture truth, is to become the authority for the conscience and the love and life of the soul.

And at the commencement of the time of trouble, we were FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT as we went forth and PROCLAIMED THE SABBATH MORE FULLY. THIS ENRAGED THE CHURCH AND NOMINAL ADVENTISTS, as they could not refute the SABBATH TRUTH. And at this time, Elohim'S CHOSEN, ALL SAW CLEARLY THAT WE HAD THE TRUTH, AND THEY CAME OUT AND ENDURED THE PERSECUTION WITH US.

All those who are indifferent and excuse themselves from this WORK, waiting for Y'hovah to do for them that which HE REQUIRES THEM TO DO FOR THEMSELVES, will be found wanting when the meek of the earth, who have wrought HIS JUDGMENTS, are hid in the day of Y'hovah's anger. I was shown that if Elohim'S PEOPLE make no efforts on their part, but wait for THE REFRESHING to come upon them and remove their wrongs and correct their errors; if they depend upon that to CLEANSE THEM from filthiness of the flesh and spirit, and fit them to engage in the LOUD CRY OF THE THIRD ANGEL, they will be found wanting. THE REFRESHING OR POWER OF Elohim comes only on those who have PREPARED THEMSELVES FOR IT by doing the WORK which Elohim bids them, namely, CLEANSING THEMSELVES from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting HOLINESS in the fear of Elohim.

I saw that many were NEGLECTING THE PREPARATION SO NEEDFUL and were looking to the time of "REFRESHING" and the "LATTER RAIN" to fit them to stand in THE DAY OF Y'hovah and to LIVE IN HIS SIGHT. They had NEGLECTED THE NEEDFUL PREPARATION; therefore they could not receive the REFRESHING that all must have TO FIT THEM TO LIVE IN THE SIGHT OF A HOLY Elohim. Those who refuse to be HEWED BY THE PROPHETS and fail to PURIFY THEIR SOULS IN OBEYING THE WHOLE TRUTH, and who are willing to believe that their condition is far better than it really is, will come up to the time of the falling of the plagues, and then see that they needed to be HEWED and SQUARED for the BUILDING. But there will be no time then to do it and no Mediator to plead their cause before the Father. Before this time the awfully solemn declaration has gone forth, "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still." I saw that none could share the "REFRESHING" unless they obtain the VICTORY over every besetment, over pride, selfishness, love of the world, and over every wrong word and action. We should, therefore, BE DRAWING NEARER AND NEARER TO Y'hovah AND BE EARNESTLY SEEKING THAT PREPARATION NECESSARY TO ENABLE US TO STAND IN THE BATTLE IN THE DAY OF Y'hovah. Let all remember that Elohim IS HOLY AND THAT NONE BUT HOLY BEINGS CAN EVER DWELL IN HIS PRESENCE.

As they follow on in the PATH OF HUMBLE OBEDIENCE, DOING HIS WILL, they will know more and more of the oracles of Elohim....

IMMUNE SYSTEM POWER=METABOLIC POOL OF ATP X NUTRITIONAL STATUS

As we have an Ocean within, so we have Pools within. One of these Pools is the Metabolic Pool of Adenosine Tri Phosphate. Adenosine Tri Phosphate, the ENERGY MOLECULE (abbreviated ATP), can be described as the body's MOLECULAR "BATTERIES" which provides the ELECTRICAL ENERGY OR PROPAGATING FORCE needed to carry out nearly every cellular metabolic activity. (1, 2c)

ATP is the "charged" state of the MOLECULAR "BATTERY".

Adenosine Di Phosphate, (abbreviated ADP), is the "discharged" state of the MOLECULAR "BATTERY". The difference being ADP has lost one PHOSPHATE ION and a number of ELECTRONS as ENERGY. The "T" in ATP stands for Tri meaning three. The "D" in ADP stands for Di meaning two. The "M" in AMP stands for Mono meaning one.

Our BLOODSTREAM spreads out into a thin sheet as it flows over about 150 SQUARE METERS of LUNG SURFACE AREA on the ALVEOLAR AIR SACS absorbing ELECTRON RICH OXYGEN FROM the AIR we breath. This ELECTRIFIES the BLOOD imparting to it a BRIGHT LIVELY COLOR. This LIFE-GIVING BLOOD transports ELECTRON RICH OXYGEN to the MOLECULAR "BATTERY CHARGERS", the MITOCHONDRIA. These are the little vesicles in each cell that contain the ELECTRON TRANSPORT SYSTEM, which is responsible for converting or "Charging Up" ADP back to ATP.(4) This process is called MITOCHONDRIAL OXIDATIVE PHOSPHORYLATION, which requires ADP, a PHOSPHATE ION, ELECTRONS, and FUEL. Another name for this process is MITOCHONDRIAL RESPIRATION, or is called the MITOCHONDRIAL RESPIRATORY CHAIN(3a)

The charge or discharged state of our metabolic pool of ATP "BATTERIES" determines our cellular METABOLIC POWER and ability to maintain a state of homeostasis reflecting our level of Health, and Vital ENERGY, and affecting our resistance to disease. (2a)

It is vitally important to get plenty of EXERCISE and REST, while breathing FRESH OXYGEN RICH AIR which will "RECHARGE our BATTERIES", our pool of ATP ENERGY molecules. (FRESH AIR=ENERGY)

Active Transport is a function carried on in the outer wall or membrane of each cell. It is a mechanism which pumps different materials in and out of the cell against a concentration gradient, which requires energy, keeping up healthy CELLULAR RESPIRATION. The sodium-potassium active transport pump is one of the largest consumers of ATP in our bodies. It is responsible for maintaining CELLULAR MEMBRANE VOLTAGE POTENTIALS. Active Transport uses ATP as its ENERGY source. (2b)---OVER ONE-HALF OF THIS MITOCHONDRIAL PRODUCED ATP IS CONSUMED BY THE KIDNEYS IN KEEPING THE BLOOD PURE--

Cyclic Adenosine Mono Phosphate (abbreviated c-AMP) IS PRODUCED FROM ATP. c-AMP acts as a metabolic regulator, normalizing the activities of the cell. When c-AMP is INADEQUATE (REMEMBER IT IS MADE FROM ATP THE ENERGY MOLECULE) the activities of all the enzymes speed up to the point of chaos, leading to one type of UNCONTROLLED CELL GROWTH which we call CANCER. (3b)---It is apparent that CANCER results as cellular ATP CONCENTRATIONS (LIFE ENERGY) diminishes. Nearly every metabolic reaction requires ATP, the ENERGY molecule.

People who have cancer have dirty blood, that is blood with a high sedimentation rate, it is a dark deep red, lacking a lively bright clean red look. Your blood while on this cleansing program, and avoiding all oils, and in a high oxygen mountain environment will take on a bright orange, about like carrot juice, instead of a darker heavy red. The more life, (oxygen), that is in the blood, the brighter and livelier it looks.

The migraine headache occurs when the kidney becomes tired and can't keep up to the marathon stretch. It gets tired out, that is, exhausted of ATP ENERGY molecules. Uric acid increases in the blood, and the person who has a weak meninges-pathologically weak or damaged, uric acid appears in the cerebrospinal fluid, burning and stinging the brain. It is VERY PAINFUL. It is also related to the liver not working at full capacity. Poisons, possibly neuro-toxin from a parasite, or rotten food the parasite is holding against the wall of the colon, passing first into the blood, then to the liver are not being transformed, or being prepared for the kidney to excrete. I have found from experience that if digestion is able to be started, by eating a small amount of potato garlic soup, or eating cassabe bread or drinking 10-section lemon juice, will begin recovery, mostly the 10-section lemon juice has eased the severest migraines. Most of my migraines have happened when I was tired or digestion was overloaded or weak, and I have for a time taken more oils or margarine than I had digestive enzymes to digest. 10-section lemon juice is the most powerful aid to liver action I know. It works to quicken liver action cleaning away coffee residues from system, energizing and quickening intelligence making you feel ALIVE!!!

If you can tell your kidneys are being strained, and you are beginning to feel the increase of toxins in your blood, (you feel irritable), then taking a coffee enema with lab grade pure distilled water, will relieve the kidney saving it from becoming excessively strained and tired out and weak, saving you from getting a migraine headache. An effort well worth the reward. For a migraine can last a day or more, but several coffee enemas take only a couple of hours or more. The water in the colon helps to absorb uric acid and other excessive concentrations from the blood, also washing away poisons being absorb from the colon. The coffee stimulates the liver enabling it to throw off more toxins and poisons by dilating the bile ducts increasing the flow of bile.

Thus the coffee enema makes you feel much better by an immediate cleansing action upon the blood. But if you already are down with a migraine, the enema can bring you back out only if you have a stock of enzymes built up. If the first or second enema doesn't help at all probably more coffee enemas will not help either but 10-section lemon juice will always help. It is also important to sip only small amounts of water as the kidney doesn't excrete it as well during a migraine which contributes to increased blood pressure and increased pounding and flow of poisons in the blood to the brain. Chronic sufferers of migraines will find that limiting oils will increase oxygenation of the tissues increasing mitochondrial respiration increasing production of the ENERGY molecule ATP, which will increase organ and system ENERGY, keeping the metabolic pool of ATP at a higher level. A low protein diet will also give some relief to the kidney allowing it to become healthier and stronger, able to do much harder work in emergency conditions, without weakening and giving you a migraine. A spare diet such as this one will help decrease the migraines while building up system ATP electricity. Limiting oil will help.

HERE IS A PROGRAM TO CHARGE YOUR ATP BATTERIES AT A HIGH RATE

Water softened and then distilled in fresh pure air by a lab-PURE Distiller-EQUAL To the Pyrex Glass "Rain Crystal", when used with this "path" with frequent coffee enema cleansings with H2O2, and necessary supplements, will stop and reverse most degenerative processes and changes, by a process of Hyper-metabolic Catabolic Gluco-neogenesis. Judge the amount of salt needed by number of cleansings and if faintness and dizziness develops.

This path of obedience to Nature's Laws will increase cellular concentrations of ATP LIFE ENERGY, which increases ACTIVE TRANSPORT POTENTIAL VOLTAGES and increases cellular cleansing power.

The MIGRAINE begins as KIDNEY LEVELS of ATP DWINDLE, and as blood urea levels increase. There is an increase of stomach stasis of food due to blockage of the pyloric valve from parasites, as SYSTEMIC ATP is exhausted, ANS (autonomic nervous system) ELECTRICITY is lowered to the point that it has not sufficient CURRENT to STIMULATE the DIGESTIVE MACHINERY to overcome the muscular blockage of the parasites. Poisons from decaying food further deplete KIDNEY and LIVER ATP, increasing blood levels of poisonous uric acid, which directly reflects in the CEREBROSPINAL FLUID which WASHES THE BRAIN. The metabolism of the parasite, being stimulated by the increase of decaying matter, produces more poisonous neurotoxins further paralyzing the digestive machinery. As LIVER ATP is exhausted, the minimum levels of ATP necessary for it to elaborate the chemicals to neutralize the neurotoxins is inadequate, and the problem catapults out of control, and the migraine becomes TREMENDOUS, continuing until the dead parasite passes or poisons are neutralized and excreted.

If the system is on a cleansing, low protein diet, the "digestive machinery", especially the liver doesn't have the necessary amino acids to combine with excessive drugs and poisons to prepare them for the kidneys to excrete. The kidneys and the liver work together so if one is tired the other cannot properly carry out its work.

Our Creator does not wish that any of us should suffer, but that all of us should come to repentance for violating His Laws.

The "Seal of Elohim" in Nature, closely related to the "Key of David", guides us to select foods which RELEASE ELECTRONS, and avoid foods which DRAIN our ATP "BATTERIES". He (David) chose FIVE SMOOTH STONES FROM THE BROOK, and drew near the philistine. So today we can beat the "Philistine" by obeying "These Truths."

Health reform- This verse shows that Y'hovah's commands prescribes a special diet (preparest a table) predecessory to receiveing the latter rain (anointest my head with oil) which falls only on those who are "To souls who are seeking for light that accept with gladness every ray of Divine Illumination from His Righteous Word, to such ALONE Light will be Given, It is through these souls, that THAT LIGHT which will LIGHTEN the WHOLE earth with IT"S GLORY will be revealed.

The scripture repeatedly explains the word soul as referring to appetite and eating to the satisfying of soul.

Thus the Latter Rain comes on those who are seeking for a better way, according to the LIGHT of Y'hovah's WORD to satisfy their souls, that is their stomach.The commands of Y'hovah are plain and without controversy.

Satan will try to make you think one or more of the commands are not binding anymore as though Y'hovah did not know the future or was not intelligent as to what He was speaking.

His Words uphold all creation, therefore creation would vanish away before ONE OF HIS WORDS COULD PASS AWAY. As Daniel 8:14 shows that the offering of animals would cease at the Messiah's Offering of His Life On The Cross of Calvary. That has been fulfilled, therefore the sacrificing of animals has been done away. The earthly tabernacle was a shadow of the Heavenly Sanctuary, where the Court of Heaven is now in progress.

Y'hovah will reestablish His Divine Order when He roars out of the Zion above, then commences the Jubilee when the land should rest. His Voice is uttered just at midnight when the death decree goes into law effecting the saints who will "not worship the beast" or his idol or receive the mark of his name. His voice turns their captivity and the wicked tremble before this magnitude of the Divine Majesterial Retribution uttered from Zion. The captivity is reversed the Saint's become as Kings and Queens and are clothed with the panoply of Y'hovah, a Light surrounds and covers them, a Divine Light from Y'hovah as the token of His Approbation. The time of this reign is long enough for the wicked world to become educated as to the future for When Messiah comes to take His children Home the wicked are afraid and are hiding in caves seeking to escape the Divine Presence having already experienced the seven last plagues. But nothing can protect from Him who gives existence to ALL THINGS both spiritual and material, neither at one point have they power to destroy their lives to escape this Divine Appointment.

Man is the crowning work of all that Elohim has made. The proper study of every learner is man. Science, true and unadulterated, in all its achievements, is to be laid at the feet of the Elohim of science. Man is a being to be prized.

We are to praise Elohim, for we are fearfully and wonderfully made...The powers of man were brought into activity by Elohim, and can be kept in health and soundness by being intelligently and proportionately worked. More people die from idleness than from overwork.

The agency of Elohim can be discerned by all who are enlightened by the word of Elohim. Man is not furnished with machinery, set in motion like the machinery of a clock, and then left to himself to take care of these wonderful organs. No, the agency of Elohim is constantly at work to preserve his wonderful workmanship. Satan is busily at work inventing schemes to make man, through his disregard and violation of the physical laws which Elohim has established, become disordered. Through tempting him to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge, the enemy would lead man to obtain a knowledge which instead of enabling him to cooperating with Elohim to preserve every one of the organs, will have a tendency to weaken and depress the human machinery, that it may not be perfect to act its part as Elohim designs it shall do. BUT Elohim DESIGNS THAT THE ORGANS SHALL BE HEALTHY AND READY FOR USE, EVER AT THE COMMAND OF THE HUMAN AGENT, TO MOVE IN THEIR RESPECTIVE LINES OF EXERCISE UNDER AN INTELLIGENT KNOWLEDGE, AND IN THE POWER DERIVED FROM Elohim.

The system is made up of different parts fitted to work harmoniously, and so arranged and proportioned as to make one complete whole. It is the misuse and violation of nature's laws that keeps some parts of the human machinery in action, while others are left to become weak through disuse. Elohim designs that the whole being shall be proportionately worked, that every part of the wonderful machinery may act in harmony with the other...We are not to act in accordance with perverted ideas and customs, but in the intelligence which Elohim has given. We are to preserve simplicity, to maintain the natural form and motions of the body, and not educate the mind and body to meet the customs and fashions of this degenerate age. Power placed in the hands of any man is, beyond a certain limit, a snare, and often will ruin his soul. Y'hovah's word to Solomon (1 Kings 9:1-9) is applicable to every man who consents to assume responsibilities in any place in Y'hovah's work. HEALTH IS VITAL ENERGY (VITAL FORCE, BRAIN-NERVE POWER, ELECTRICAL ENERGY)

Signs of increased VITAL ENERGY are increased autonomic functions (increased esophageal reflex, increased POWER OF DIGESTION. Very important is the strength of the bowel muscles, their strength and power to digest and move food along quickly, before the slightest putrefaction or fermentation takes place, putrefaction and fermentation in our bodies is a result of sin and has no place in a "Living Sacrifice".

Yet his MEAT IN HIS BOWELS IS TURNED (SOURED), it is the GALL (POISON) of ASPS (venomous snakes-'worms, TAPEWORMS') WITHIN HIM. Job 20:14

The old truths of the Word of Elohim are the living realities, the enemy has come into our midst and attempted to turn the Truth of Elohim into a lie, and they welcome him, with wide open arms embracing and loving him, and applauding him, and thus while scorning the precious saving Truth, he deprives them of their title to heaven.

Y'hovah Elohim our Father in Heaven, Y'hoshua Elohim His Darling Son, and Elohim the Spirit of Truth are Three united as One. He will never be converted after this modern order of things, as this popular idea and that comes and passes away. But rather He requires that to be His children, we renounce the world, and its follies, and its customs, and be converted to His Righteous Will, HIS TORAH AND TAODAH-Of which His Darling Son, King Y'hoshua proclaimed, "Heaven and earth shall pass away before one yode or one koriah should pass away till all be fulfilled," which only Daniel 8:14 He fulfilled, made the sacrifices and offerings to cease. Thus the Pentateuch-first five books of scripture-are still in effect, as is stated by YHWH all through His Word, Which keepeth His covenant unto a thousand generations. A thousand generations has only started and will not be complete until far far far into the future, of which time this six thousand year earth history will seem but a brief moment. Throughout History the pagan world has sought to make YHWH'S people to fall through disobeying His commands. Baalam for instance, and many many others. In the state of obedience, His people are assured of His favour. In disobedience they are assured of His disfavour.

The worm can coil up and bind the bowel so that a particular food it likes will stay for a while, like a pig it will wallow and delight in the soured mass of food turned poison.

Terrible is the disposition of one thus afflicted with souring, for it has a most powerful effect upon the personality.

There is an aura and sometimes 'lights' as a premonition to a migraine and seizures, I propose they are related to the presence of the tapeworm. The aura and lights being brought on by the production of neurotoxins and chemicals as the tapeworm's period or cycle comes, or stimulation by a junk-food (sugar) that is healthy for the worm, stimulating it's exotoxin (poison) production, and muscular activity. As your energy increases his energy decreases. As the parasites energy increases, he makes more poisons, this taxes your vital energy, lowering your energy and life and vitality.

As you begin a fast from a well nourished diet and having a well nourished tapeworm who has its head near the stomach it senses that it has no food near its head but can still receive nourishment from its tail in the colon. It cannot live as long as you can without food. So rather than lose the food nourishing it from its tail in the colon, it will release large amounts of neurotoxins to paralyze your digestive action, possibly giving you a migraine headache or you just feel bad. The food remains in your intestines longer souring but still giving the parasite nutrition. Hence the need of a cleansing diet before approaching a fast to reduce the power (nutritional reserves) of the worm so that a fast will not be so drastic or painfully harmful to you. And the more gradual the cleansing diet is adopted the less severe the reaction. For the parasite needs lots of nutrition to be able to produce large amounts of poisons and neurotoxins.

And as he was yet a coming, the devil THREW HIM DOWN, and TARE HIM. And Y'hoshua rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father. Luke 9:42

I have heard of migraine sufferers dying in their efforts to obtain relief from the migraine.

It appears that a tapeworm that has it's head buried in the gut, at a point of central nervous system enervation, (a nerve), would at the time it bites or grabs with it's hook more tightly, cause a tremendous spasm of the whole body and reflexly cause a temporary lapse of consciousness. Or depending what nerve it was on could cause any type of symptom through reflex action.

The first temptation was through the medium of a serpent, in the FORBIDDEN TREE-THE FIRST HYBRID TREE-, today men are influenced by direct connection of internal snakes, who have greater strength through dwelling in the presence of FORBIDDEN FOOD-HYBRID FOOD. At any time the Holy Angels would release their restraint the person could be eaten of worms, as was King Herod.

ATP (the ENERGY molecule Adenosine Tri-Phosphate) has been likened to a loaded and cocked pistol ready to fire. Cellular concentrations of ATP are an index to VITAL ENERGY. Complete combustion leaves no residues, the higher the energy the less residue.

As intestinal ATP levels increase in the lining, Active Transport Potentials also increase, (providing there are sufficient electrolytes), absorbing more from the food we eat allowing a greater gain of ENERGY from a smaller amount of exergonic food.

THE CAUSE OF CANCER AND DISEASE is THE LACK OF ENERGY, more   specifically the ENERGY molecule ATP.

Since cancer may come from a c-AMP deficiency, which regulates cellular metabolic activities. And c-AMP is produced from ATP, a deficiency of ATP would result in a deficiency of c-AMP.

Please note: The mitochondrial respiratory chain (ELECTRON-transport system of the mitochondria) is responsible for reconversion of the spent energy molecule back to its energized state, that is ADP back to ATP. Which reconverting is 90% of the total ATP production.

Then the cause of cancer is a low energy state. The deficiency of electrons, and its exhaustion. This deficiency can come from decreasing tissue oxygen or from absorption of electrons from the metabolic pool of ATP by consumption of endergonic foods, which depletes the metabolic pool of ATP.

It has been proven by scientific studies that starving tissue of oxygen will evoke cancer.

This will smother the MITOCHONDRIAL RESPIRATORY CHAIN, causing it to "gasp" for breath, that is, for the electrons that a breath of fresh air (oxygen), would bring.

It is of great importance that the mitochondrial respiratory chain is not robbed but nourished with a plentiful supply of electrons, promoting the production of the energy molecule ATP.

EXERGONIC FOODS release ELECTRONS during digestion which are carried to the ELECTRON TRANSPORT SYSTEM for the PRODUCTION OF ATP.

ENDERGONIC FOODS absorb ELECTRONS during digestion. DEPLETING THE METABOLIC POOL OF ATP, WHICH SUPPLIES THE NEEDED ELECTRONS FOR THE ENDERGONIC REACTION, INSTEAD OF NOURISHING CYTOCHROME OXIDASES WITH ELECTRONS TO CARRY TO THE MITOCHONDRIAL RESPIRATORY CHAIN TO INCREASE ATP PRODUCTION.

One of the conditional Promises that Y'hovah gave to Moses states that "If thou wilt diligently hearken unto to the voice of Y'hovah thine Elohim, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep ALL His statutes, I will put none of these DISEASES upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am Y'hovah that HEALETH thee." Exodus 15:26 (see Deuteronomy 7:12, 15)

Since the law of gravity is still binding, I also believe that not one of the other laws which govern the operations of nature has been done away with.

Hybrid foods with the confused genes, lower the electricity available to the blood vitalizing organs, the liver and kidneys, the effects which produce cancer.

CANCER IS THE STATE OF de GENERATION a weakening of the constitutional state of cellular integrity and strength.

When a hybrid food is eaten, an endergonic chemical reaction takes place. There is a charge transfer of electrons from the body's reserves (cellular metabolic pool of ATP) to the food being digested, resulting in a NET LOSS OF ELECTRONS. There is a sensation of chilliness, tiredness, as the reaction absorbs a small amount of heat.

Similar reactions soon takes place when certain "designed" foods such as modern wheat are eaten which contain an antagonist protein fraction which taxes the immune system further depleting ATP.

When a food containing the "Seal of Elohim" in nature is eaten, an exergonic chemical reaction takes place. There is a charge transfer of free electrons from the food being digested to the body, resulting in a NET GAIN OF ELECTRONS. There is a sensation of warmth, an increase of cerebral activity, as the reaction gives a small amount of heat.

Since the energy molecule of the body is ATP, and 90% of the production of this molecule is the reconverting of ADP back to ATP, which occurs in the proton-electron pump transport system in the mitochondria, there is a need for free electrons. Oxygen is the main supplier of this need.

However, the aqueous chemical ability to amass and hold electron charges is considerable. For example it would take many breaths of air to charge up a wet cell battery from the electrons available in atmospheric oxygen.

It may be that cooking a good while in water may help balance the negative electrical properties of hybrid onions. For example, look what happens when watery hybrid foods, like multinucleated onions and nectarines both of which are very high consumers of electrons, are eaten. As they are absorbed from the intestines, the blood is depleted of electrons stored in ATP. Then the devitalized blood goes to the liver, where it is revitalized with electrons until the liver is depleted of electron rich ATP.   Then secondarily if the amount of highly hybridized food consumed was great enough, and the system energy already low, the kidneys will become depleted of ATP. The migraine sufferers headache ensues, because the kidney is no longer able to act its part in regulating vasopressure (blood pressure), and in excreting uric acid. As the blood pressure builds, and uric acid in the blood increases, uric acid appears in the cerebrospinal fluid, both causing excruciating pain in the brain, the organ most sensitive to poisons and vasopressure.

Going back to system charging-a breath of air (a gas) contains but few electrons compared to the mass storage capabilities of chemicals (liquids-positive or negative charges). It takes time to recharge ourselves with electrons from the air we breath. But as we continue to eat these highly hybridized foods meal after meal, we do not fully recover the lost electrons, but stay at a lower charge. We do not reach the potential that atmospheric oxygen would charge us to, let alone the potential that can be gained by eating only highly "charged" exergonic foods.

It is at this low, that metabolic activities become weak, for it needs more ATP (energy) molecules than are available.

Basal Metabolic Rate and levels of ATP are different. ATP (ENERGY) levels determine the amount of cellular metabolic power and work that can be done. BMR is speed-rate of ATP expenditure.

Suppressing electron supply suppresses ATP production.

Cellular activity decreases, the immune system becomes weak for it is very dependant upon energy. DNA maintenance activities decrease and become weak, in short the body becomes weak. Everything degenerates for the "LIFE IN THE BLOOD" are these ELECTRONS, carried and stored in various ways, which are being depleted on a large scale by consumption of endergonic foods which absorb them in the chemical reactions that take place.

Cytochrome oxidase is the carrier that transports the electrons from digestion to the mitochondria in the cell.

The liver is responsible for transforming foodstuffs to compatible materials for human metabolism. Also for re-energizing the blood attempting to recover from the loss of electrons from endergonic foodstuffs.

In time as foods which release the largest quantities of electrons are eaten, our body's metabolic pool of ATP increases. When ATP molecules are expended phosphates are split off and free electrons are released supplying the energy the body needs for the particular application-metabolic needs for bio-chemical synthesis, energy needs as the contraction of muscle tissue, and energy needs as in nerve transmission, not only in strength but also in sensitivity, to nerve impulse, increasing nerve sensory stimuli sensation such as olfactory, visual, auditory, and especially taste bud and increased salivation. In time the brain gains energy, increasing intellectual activity, for the reticular formation has more electricity to energize the cerebrum. Memory improves, mental functioning improves, power of association increases allowing a clearer perception of truth. The entire being thrills with new life.

It would take a 5, 10 or more mile run, in fresh air, to gain an appreciable charge of electrons to feel a big difference. Although a shorter exercise will gain some electrons and help with circulation.

Equally important in human metabolism is the net gain or the net loss of electrons upon initial consumption of food, as Active Transport Potentials increase from the increasing intestinal ATP, breaking down and absorbing more foodstuffs.

Caloric determination is not a true indicator of a food's bio-chemical energy as it is performed in atmospheric oxygen where the heat is measured but not the amount of oxygen required for combustion. In the bio-chemical environment there is a limited supply of oxygen (electrons), the increased need of oxygen for endergonic foods becomes critical, as endergonic foods consume a great quantity of electrons in being prepared for human cellular combustion. If oxygen were carefully measured, it would be found that endergonic foods more or less would have to be "fanned" in order to make them burn in comparison to exergonic foods which would require an extinguisher to put them out. (For example when cassava bread is toasted, if an edge burns, it will continue to smolder with a red coal, for many minutes, feeding itself.) Foods that are highly combustible have high energy yields in the internal environment. Foods that are difficult to burn will also absorb energy from the internal environment. It also appears that in Eden, where nothing corruptible was, that the colon was the place of final conversion of all food and fiber into energy. Possibly the appendix secreted a liquid substance that converted fiber into a type of usable energy. In Eden seeds were saved for planting, for eating them would be the same as burning them, leaving no seeds to plant for future generations in the New Earth. There, everything was perfect, a system of perfection was personified.

Then the colon or table or alter of burnt sacrifice was a place very clean, the highest energy place in the body, compared to now the lowest energy, and the most corruptible place of the body, and hence the most diseased organ, as in Isaiah 28:8-"For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean."-Which results from eating mucous forming and hybrid foods, corruption producing high residue high fermentation type foods, and swallowing mucous-regenerating the cycle. Today the coffee enema can help to keep clean the alter of burnt sacrifice, the place of final absorption. The coffee helping to destroy the bacteria and parasites dwelling there.

Deuteronomy 22:9 tells us that sowing a field with divers seed produces not only defiled fruit, but defiled seed also, whereas in Genesis 1:11, 12, He saw what He had made was good. "Good" genes make good molecules. "Defiled" genes make defiled molecules.

The pattern of five indicates genes which manufacture geo-symmetrically shaped molecules reacting exergonically. The absence of this pattern indicates hybridization, mismatching of genes that will manufacture unbalanced molecules, causing endergonic reactions.

The pattern of 5 indicates that the genes contain the truth, the absence of this pattern is proof that it contains error. Truth is life, error is death. And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Y'hoshua and Elohim our Father designed perfection. Every deviation from this is error, and sustains death. But in obedience to truth is life, which is sacred for it comes from Him. The pattern of five demonstrates that the genes which constructed that particular item, contains the truth, that is the correct instructions to manufacture molecules with the correct atomic electronic bonds in the geophysically symmetrical pattern, which will react in the electro-chemical environment of the body, giving a surplus of electrons replenishing cytochrome oxidases to carry to the electron-proton-pump-transport-system of the mitochondria. Whereas the erroneously engineered genes have deceptive instructions, (which devitalizes the one who eats them), to construct atoms into molecules with the same atoms, but in a false geophysical shape with atomic electronic bondings, which will react in the electro-chemical environment of the body stealing the precious valuable electrons from the metabolic pool of ATP which are in great demand. Making the mitochondrial respiratory chain to strain and gasp for breath. Thus the words of scripture are fulfilled, that even that which you already have shall be taken away.

Confused genes bring forth strange fire, smothering the sacred flame. And good genes promote the sacred flame. Which will you offer unto Elohim; A LIVING SACRIFICE, or offer unto Him strange fire, a living corpse, full of disease and decay?

The number of sections, or petals on a flowering bud reflects back down indicating which instruction set is contained in the genes that controls the molecular structuring and electro- chemical bonding of the molecules which configuration determines whether it will react releasing or absorbing electrons when food is digested.

The pattern of five is the Seal of Elohim in nature and is descendant from the original creation which was free from hybridization. For "The path of obedience to 'Natures Laws' is the Direct Path to Heaven." Counsels on Health p. 222. The original creation is Elohim's design. Gen. 1:11,12 The hybridization is man's undesign. Deut. 22:9 Lev. 19:19. Which shall we consume?

Mental clarity is dependant upon pure blood, energized blood, blood with lots of oxygen. Mental energy is dependant upon physical energy. Such as brain-nerve power. Electrical energy contained in the cerebrospinal fluid is charged up much like a battery. As you continue to eat exergonic food and zero endergonic food, your electrical energy increases and for a while goes towards healing and cleansing processes until eventually you begin to feel much better. The reticular formation has a much greater amount of electricity with which to energize a far greater number of and to a greater extent your brain cells. As you allow the Spirit of Elohim to come in, there is a growth in intellect and love for Elohim and His wonderful blessings.

Contaminants from impure water have an effect to impede the flow of current (electrons) in the synapse of brain cells, inhibiting finer mental analytical deductive calculative reasoning capabilities.

Laboratory quality distilled water is the best (if distilled after softening, will be free from calcium ions), for it has the least contaminants. It helps to relieve your blood purifying organs and makes you feel better. It apparently has an effect to increase energy. It has the greatest solvent action because of its purity.

To the degree it is free from inorganic calcium and other contaminants is its power to leach out inorganic calcium and mineral salts from your body (In the coffee enema) necessitating the need of calcium rich foods, such as cassava bread, yucca root, and other plant electro-synthesized minerals, but at least you are in control, rather than the unknown control of the ground water supply, and it's harmful inorganic minerals.

The Holy Bible is the greatest mind expander there is. It has power. To the degree it is studied and obeyed will it impart it's power and open up to your understanding it's hidden treasures. The digestive tract is a source of great danger in our de-energized states. There is danger that putrefaction will develop and therefore must be given special care. The less life and vitality we possess the greater danger of degenerative changes taking place.

Parasites love putrefaction, a protein and high sugar diet sustains them, a prolonged low protein and low sugar diet starves them to a degree of weakening them, depleting their metabolic reserves, decreasing their ability to elaborate the different toxins which can sour your food, allowing you to have better health. Their by products of metabolism can harm you (if you have a weak or damaged liver). A high sugar meal stimulates their activity. Migraine sufferers need-plenty of sleep, a greater capillary flow of blood oxygen in their liver to sustain liver energy necessary for it to keep the blood pure, and free from the paralyzing effects on the digestive tract from certain neurotoxins released from parasites,

it is important to keep from becoming dehydrated, which needlessly expends more kidney ATP, (to pump against a greater concentration gradient), which is critical for migraine sufferers. For this class of sufferers, it is very critical to observe the "Seal of Elohim" in nature, this increases the buffer of liver and renal ATP to draw upon. A lab pure water free from sodium and calcium ions will help the kidneys in their work. As a buildup of Na+ depletes renal ATP contributing to the migraine. Also fresh air is greatly needed, as kidney failure ensues the lungs next become the main blood purifying organ, giving a reason why any odors are intolerable to a migraine sufferer. A weak liver burdened with grease doesn't have the ability to bio-transform the neurotoxins produced from certain parasites. A kidney clogged with oil also has difficulty in it's work of excreting uric acid, kidney exhaustion is also directly linked to the migraine. Digestive failure occurs, food putrefies in the digestive tract poisoning the blood, accumulating and increasing the problem. But if the weakest organs (primarily the kidneys) levels, of ATP, can be kept from being depleted then there is enough energy available to keep away from the migraine. If kidney energy is depleted, then the migraine ensues. Ground water calcium, not being electrically prepared by plant synthesis, and contaminants greatly impede the flow of electricity. Just as you need better than normal distilled water for certain Laboratory processes (laboratory pure distilled water), just so will this improve the bodies laboratory processes, imparting energizing properties to the blood, when it is also cleansed by healthy well functioning kidneys. Kidneys with a fine filtration rate that are not damaged by overwork, removing nitrogenous by products of excessive protein metabolism. (consumption of foods, or foods made from foods in the preservative or hibernation stage should not be consumed. e.g. dried beans, grains, seeds) the dried state is for the purpose of preservation and is not fit for consumption in such a state. ONLY after it has risen from the dead in NEWNESS OF LIFE (sprouted) can it promote life, in the dead state it promotes death. The kidneys (while recovering and repairing damage from harmful foods) develop strong and powerful filtration properties to retain energizing electrolytes (retaining K+ and passing Na+) in the blood stream. Maintaining a near perfect environment. But all endergonic foods (foods which absorb electrons in the oxidation reduction cycle) lowers the production of energy. To obtain a greater illumination of the cerebral cortex you must have a greater amount of electrical current available, (increased supply of electrons stored up in the nerve cells in the form of ATP which when utilized release energy in the form of electrons, which energy is cumulative, increasing the current sent to the brain, increasing cerebral activity), to energize the reticular formation, so it can in turn stimulate more brain cells into greater activity. This can only be done by long distance runners (for a brief period during and following the prolonged hyperventilation of the blood combined with a much freer and complete circulation of blood) or people who carefully nourish their bodies metabolism with only foods which have the Seal of Elohim in nature (the pattern of five which ensures the release of electrons in the oxidation-reduction cycle of metabolism instead of the absorption thereof.) which ensures the promotion of energy instead of the depletion of energy. Just like a gear has to have the right number of teeth to work so Y'hovah Elohim made order and perfection a condition of SUCCESSful increase of energy. The pattern of 5, 10, demonstrating the genes which made the food item have "good" genes which contain the "true" instructions to manufacture molecules arranging the atoms in the correct geophysical structure which will have the electronic bondings that will react in the electro-chemical environment of the body releasing electrons instead of absorbing them, catapulting the production of the energy molecule ATP, adenosine tri-phosphate. I think of the cerebrospinal fluid like a chemical battery. "the material there deposited to nourish the brain" is mentioned by an Inspired writer. It prevents brain failure from instantaneous depletion of electrons such as after a highly endergonic meal.

Nitrogen and ammonia are damaging to the brain, hence no "dried" beans on the "bio-energetics diet" unless the beans are sprouted so the atomic explosion has taken place burning up all the nitrogen, ammonia, and phytic acid.

The food stuffs made by adulterated, defiled, confused foods have a DEOXY-RIBONUCLEIC-ACID that produce foods with a reversed molecular rotation that upon entering the delicately balanced oxidation-reduction systems of the body produce an endothermic reaction which absorbs energy (electrons) from the surrounding medium, giving the reason for "death in the pot" II Kings 4:39-41, while those foods Elohim saw were "Good" produce exothermic reactions releasing energy (electrons) in the system, having correct DNA patterns.

In this world of confusion how do we tell what foods have DNA which will produce exothermic reactions releasing energy? It is easy!  We look for the "Seal of Elohim" in nature. What is this "SEAL"?

It is the pattern denoting genes which have reverted back to the original, it is a pattern of safety. Going back to the Liver, it receives the supply of blood passing from the entire alimentary tract, it filters this blood according to its ability before the blood enters the general circulation, according to it's electrical reserves and Central Nervous System Power to energize it with electricity (through nervous stimulation), it can re-energize the blood that is carrying "death" (depletion of electrons) from confused DNA foodstuffs. Aerobic exercise especially helps. The Pattern of 5 is strongly indicated in this end organ of digestion, having 5 LOBES, 5 FISSURES, 5 LIGAMENTS, 5 SETS OF VESSELS, and at least 5 DIFFERENT FUNCTIONS. We usually have 5 digits on each extremity. But most of all the pattern of 5 is very strongly indicated in the foods which follow the specifications given in Genesis 1:11,12

Hybrids gradually sap the vital forces by absorbing the body's chemical reservoir of electrons, ruining mans physical, mental, and moral nature. While those foods which Elohim pronounced "Good" GRADUALLY build up the body's store of electricity, increasing vital force.

In the most hybridized foods there is only about 20% that revert back to the pattern of 5, while the original stock have a very high percentage that display the pattern of 5, MACINTOSH apples for example have about 99 out of 100 that display this pattern.

The ATP molecule is the energy molecule of the cell, 90% being produced by the mitochondria. In the conversion of ADP back to ATP electrons are utilized.

The amount of ATP as represented in the construction of a DNA molecule is about 500-1000 as compared to the amount contained in the cytoplasm of the cell.

This helps to explain the relation of energy to strong genes, and how vital force is transmitted to offspring, as energy contained in genes, energy supplying the initial cellular organization and division and multiplication of the individual. Energy is needed for genetic strength, to resist disease, and cancer causing agents.  A lack of cellular ATP gives rise to a weak DNA allowing the cancer virus easier access to invade the DNA).

In a vision of Mrs. Ellen G. White, she saw the devil planning to take grapes, wheat, and other things given by Elohim as food and convert them to poisons. Today's wheat is a genetic amalgamation of the original, not a creation of the Creator, dangerous because of it's subtle insidious, imperceptible damage to the human constitution. Many are highly allergic to wheat and gluten.

Others have adaptation systems allowing them to eat wheat without the highly allergic symptoms, but the effects are still present but in a way which appears to be unconnected to the unsuspected cause. Very likely is the prospect that wheat, the main constituent being gluten, causes a type of blood allergen similar to an agglutinin, which tremendously hampers the immune system, greatly impeding capillary circulation, decreasing cerebral circulation, and as these antagonistic amino acids are used in cellular construction, contributing to varicose veins.

The right kind of direct current can produce hydrolysis in the human system, causing a gain in electrons and subsequent gains of systemic ATP. But alternating current causes a breakdown of the ATP molecule.

This study shows how electrical energy, stored by various means and molecules and systems, are the basis of Life, and how exothermic (exergonic), and endothermic (endergonic), foods promote life and death respectively.

To know the Truth you must have the sincere desire to know the Truth that you may obey it.

Such Inspiration is in the Bible, The Spirit of Prophecy, (Ellen G. White), and the Book of Nature, as interpreted by the scriptures, for nature today being imperfect, by sin, cannot represent the perfection of the character of Elohim. For when He the Spirit of Truth, is come, will lead and guide you into all Truth.

Nutrition-abstinence from hybrid foods and a good diet.
Exercise-daily good prolonged physical exercise will accelerate oxygenation of tissues.
Water-purest water will cleanse the cell wall and greatly increase cellular respiration and absorption of nutrients.
Sunshine-indirect stimulation of the retina will increase the flow of electricity to the pituitary and pineal glands.
Temperance-by temperance in all things especially appetite will mean not overloading the "Living Machinery" to the exhaustion of Central Nervous System electricity to move the huge bulk through the alimentary canal, and will avoid self poisoning.
Air-oxygen rich fresh air will stimulate the appetite and give peace and serenity to mind, leaving lots of electrons, like a thunderstorm or a negative ion generator. Rest-without a rest for the body the regenerative processes (recharging intestinal ATP, increasing intestinal Active Transport Potentials) doesn't take place, especially should the digestive tract rejuvenate during this time.
Trust in Divine Power-the most important of all. For the Holy Spirit can renew every organ of the body giving them life and energy.

Rebuilding the metabolic pool of ATP and conserving it by conformity to Truth-discerning between Truth and error in the Laws governing Nature is vital to restoration and preservation of Health and Vital Energy.

As cellular energy increases and purity, so also does amino acid production, from nitrogen, and by products of glucose metabolism. Decreasing the need of difficult to digest protein foods, placing you closer to the "Garden of Eden" diet.

Yucca Root is the highest energy food. It releases the highest yield of electrons. For migraine sufferers yucca root (casabe, cassava bread), and 10-section lemon juice is very helpful in increasing ATP to prevent the degenerative spiral into a migraine headache, which helps to keep renal ATP levels high enabling a high Active Transport excretion of Na+. Several raw carrots a day is very good. Fruits should all be raw, nothing cooked, as the enzymes in raw food help with digestion. And sweet things promote putrefaction.

Special needs may occur, such as a bad burn, which may increase the need of dietary protein. For example prolonged breathing of musty, damp, spore ridden basement air, or neutralization of the immune system by inhaling ammonia from cleaning products. But normally energy levels should be so high, resulting in a powerful immune system, that infection should never occur.

The four different flesh types as described in the Bible account for the different blood types. Type O-Neg. being the normal and most common and the least clotting because it has the fewest number of different agglutinins.

As active transport potentials increase, a greater amount of nutrition is extracted from the different foods eaten. In these days we hear much about "higher education." The TRUE higher "education" is that imparted by Him "in whom are hid all the TREASURES of wisdom and knowledge." The Desire of Ages p. 465

Lowliness of heart is the strength that gives victory to the followers of the Messiah; it is the token of their connection with the courts above. The Desire of Ages p. 301

Our standing before Elohim depends, not upon the amount of LIGHT we have received, but upon THE USE WE MAKE of what we have. Thus even the heathen who choose the right as far as they can distinguish it are in a more favorable condition than are those who have had GREAT LIGHT, and profess to serve Elohim, but who DISREGARD the LIGHT, and by their daily life contradict their profession. And it is only those who are following the LIGHT ALREADY GIVEN that can hope to receive the further illumination of the Spirit. Testimonies for the Church Vol. 5, p. 705

To souls that are EARNESTLY seeking for LIGHT, and that accept with GLADNESS EVERY RAY of Divine Illumination from His Holy Word,--to SUCH ALONE LIGHT will be given. LIGHT comes to the soul through Elohim's word, through His servants, or by the direct agency of His Spirit; but when ONE RAY of LIGHT is disregarded, there is a partial benumbing of the spiritual perceptions, and the second revealing of LIGHT is less clearly discerned. So the darkness increases, until it is night in the soul. The Desire of Ages p. 322

We should take one verse, and concentrate the mind on the task of ascertaining the thought which Elohim has put in that verse for us. We should dwell upon the thought until it becomes our own, and we know "what saith Y'hovah." The Desire of Ages p. 390

The ELECTRIC POWER of the brain, promoted by mental activity, VITALIZES the whole system, and is thus an invaluable aid in resisting disease. Education p. 197

The sin of intemperate eating--eating too frequently, too much, and of rich, unwholesome food--destroys the HEALTHY ACTION of the DIGESTIVE ORGANS, and AFFECTS THE BRAIN, and PERVERTS the JUDGMENT, preventing rational, calm, healthy thinking and acting.--Yahdian Temperance and Bible Hygiene, p. 155

The BRAIN is the organ and instrument of the MIND and controls the whole body. In order for the other parts of the system to be healthy, the BRAIN must be healthy. And in order for the BRAIN to be healthy, THE BLOOD MUST BE PURE. If by correct habits of eating and drinking THE BLOOD IS KEPT PURE, the BRAIN will be properly nourished. Counsels on Health p. 586,587.

Under the INFLUENCE of UNHEALTHFUL FOOD the CONSCIENCE becomes STUPEFIED, the MIND becomes DARKENED, and its SUSCEPTIBILITY to IMPRESSIONS is BLUNTED...while a HEALTHY STATE OF MIND depends upon the NORMAL CONDITION of the VITAL FORCES, WHAT CARE should be exercised that neither STIMULANTS nor NARCOTICS be used. ...the system is VITALIZED by the ELECTRICAL FORCE of the BRAIN to resist disease. Testimonies for the Church V.3, p. 157

...Stomach, liver, lungs, and brain are suffering for the want of DEEP, FULL INSPIRATIONS OF AIR, which would ELECTRIFY THE BLOOD and impart to it a BRIGHT, LIVELY COLOR, and which alone can KEEP IT PURE and give TONE AND VIGOR to every part of the LIVING MACHINERY. The burden of sin, with its unrest and unsatisfied desires, is the foundation of their maladies. They can find no relief until they come to the Healer of the soul. The peace which He alone can give would impart vigor to the mind, and health to the body. The Desire of Ages p. 270.

Your food is not of that simple, healthful quality which will make the best kind of blood. Lungs and liver are diseased because she deprives herself of VITAL AIR. AIR is the free blessing of Heaven, calculated to ELECTRIFY the whole system. Testimonies for the Church V1,p. 701

The heated air coming from a stove is injurious, and were it not for the air coming in at the crevices of the windows, would be poisonous and destroy life. Stove heat destroys the VITALITY of the air, and weakens the lungs. The Place of Herbs in Rational Therapy p. 21

Elohim has not restrained the powers of darkness from carrying forward their deadly work of VITIATING THE AIR, ONE OF THE SOURCES OF LIFE AND NUTRITION, with a deadly miasma. Selected Messages Vol. 3, page 391, pr.03

Elohim, the great Architect, has built these lofty mountains, and their influence upon climate is a blessing to our world. They draw from the clouds enriching moisture. Mountain chains are Elohim's great reservoirs, to supply the ocean with its water. These are the sources of the springs, rills, and brooks, as well as the rivers. They receive, in the form of RAIN and SNOW, the VAPORS with which the ATMOSPHERE is CHARGED, and communicate them to the parched plains below.
We should look upon the IRREGULAR MOUNTAINS of the earth as Elohim'S FOUNTAINS OF BLESSINGS from which flow forth the waters to supply all the living creatures. Every time I look upon the mountains I feel gratitude to Elohim....
Everything about us teaches us from day to day lessons of our Father's love and of His power, and of His Laws that govern nature and that lie at the foundation of all government in heaven and in earth. Our High Calling, p.253

Elohim endowed man with so great VITAL FORCE that he has withstood the accumulation of disease brought upon the race in consequence of perverted habits, and has continued for SIX THOUSAND YEARS. This fact of itself is enough to evidence to us the STRENGTH and ELECTRICAL ENERGY that Elohim gave to man at his creation. It took more than TWO THOUSAND YEARS of crime and indulgence of base passions to bring bodily disease upon the race to any great extent. If Adam, at his creation, had not been endowed with TWENTY TIMES as much VITAL FORCE as men now have, the race, with their present habits of living in violation of NATURAL LAW, would have become extinct.
...Man came from the hand of his Creator, perfect and beautiful in form, and so filled with VITAL FORCE that it was more than a THOUSAND YEARS before his corrupt appetites and passions, and general violations of PHYSICAL LAW, were sensibly felt upon the race. ... Many are the temptations and besetments on every side to ruin the prospects of young men, both for this world and the next. But THE ONLY PATH OF SAFETY IS for young and old to live in STRICT CONFORMITY to the principles of PHYSICAL and MORAL LAW. The PATH OF OBEDIENCE is the ONLY PATH that leads to Heaven. No amount of money can buy a single victory over the temptations of Satan. But that which money is valueless to obtain, which is integrity, determined effort, and moral power, will, through the name of the Messiah, obtain noble victories upon the point of appetite. ...And it is a certainty that unless we do overcome as the Messiah overcame we cannot have a seat with Him upon His throne. Those who in the face of light and truth destroy mental, moral, and physical health by indulgence of ANY kind will lose heaven. They sacrifice their Elohim-given POWERS to idols.
...Those who make determined efforts in the name of the Conqueror to overcome every unnatural craving of appetite will not die in the conflict. In their efforts to control appetite they are placing themselves in right relation to life, so that they may enjoy health and the FAVOR OF Elohim and have a right hold on the immortal life. To a people in whose hearts His law is written, the FAVOR OF Elohim is assured. They are one with Him. The Desire of Ages p.106

We are living in a solemn time, amid the closing scenes of this earth's history, and Elohim's people are not awake. They must AROUSE and make GREATER PROGRESS in reforming their habits of LIVING, in EATING, in DRESSING, in LABORING and RESTING. In all these they should GLORIFY Elohim and be PREPARED to GIVE BATTLE to our great foe, and to enjoy the PRECIOUS VICTORIES which Elohim has in reserve for those who are exercising TEMPERANCE in ALL things while STRIVING for an INCORRUPTIBLE CROWN. Our FIRST duty toward Elohim and our fellow beings is that of self-development. Every faculty with which the Creator has endowed us should be cultivated to the highest degree of PERFECTION, that we may be able to do the greatest amount of good of which we are capable. Hence that time is spent to good account which is used in the establishment and preservation of physical and mental health. We cannot afford to dwarf or cripple any function of body or mind.  As surely as we do this we must suffer the consequences. Counsels on Health p. 107

If PHYSICAL EXERCISE were combined with mental exertion, the BLOOD WOULD BE QUICKENED in its circulation, the ACTION OF THE HEART would be more perfect, IMPURE MATTER would be thrown off, and NEW LIFE and VIGOR would be experienced in EVERY PART of the body. In strength of intellect, men who now live can bear no comparison to the ancients. There have been more ancient arts lost than the present generation now possess. For skill and art those living in this degenerate age will not compare with the knowledge possessed by strong men who lived near one thousand years.
Men before the Flood lived many hundreds of years, and when one hundred years old they were considered but youths. Those long-lived men had sound minds in sound bodies. Their mental and physical strength was so great that the present feeble generation can bear no comparison with them. Those ancients had nearly one thousand years in which to acquire knowledge. They came upon the stage of action from the ages of sixty to one hundred years, about the time those who now live the longest have acted their part in their little short life time, and have passed off the stage. Those who are deceived, and flattered on in the delusion that the present is an age of real progress, and that the human race has been in ages past progressing in true knowledge, are under the influence of the father of lies, whose work has ever been to turn the truth of Elohim into a lie. The Savior of the world had no controversy with Satan, who was expelled from heaven because he was no longer worthy of a place there. He who could INFLUENCE THE ANGELS OF Elohim against their Supreme Ruler, and against His Son, their loved Commander, and enlist their sympathy for himself, WAS CAPABLE OF ANY DECEPTION. He is DECEIVING MANY as he tried to deceive the Messiah, telling them that he is an angel from heaven, DOING A GOOD WORK FOR HUMANITY. And the MASSES ARE SO BLINDED BY SIN that they cannot DISCERN the DEVICES of Satan, and they HONOR him as they would a heavenly angel while he is working their eternal ruin. Confrontation p. 36

"I was shown a platform, braced by solid timbers, the truths of the word of Elohim. SOME ONE HIGH IN RESPONSIBILITY IN THE MEDICAL WORK was directing this man and that man to LOOSEN THE TIMBERS supporting this platform. Elohim is seeking to fit us for everlasting life. He longs that His people shall catch the strains of heavenly music, for He is our crown of rejoicing. He has put a new song on our lips, even thanksgiving unto our Elohim. Penitence mingled with thanksgiving should be our experience every day. "Ye are not your own, for ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify Elohim in your body, and in your spirit, which are Elohim's" [1 Cor. 6:19, 20]. Study every plan, every method, used in your business, and think whether this business will most glorify Elohim. To every man Elohim has given his work. A bare assent to the truth is not Bible religion. . . . There are many Yahdians whose hearts are encased in a self-righteous armor that the arrow of Y'hovah, barbed and true, aimed by angel hands, would fail to pierce. The truth glides off, and the soul is not wounded. Man must first seek Elohim for himself, then the Holy Spirit will take the precious truth, far above the price of rubies, as it falls from the lips of Y'hoshua, and convey it, a living power, to the obedient heart. The TRUTH, received in the heart becomes a quickening power, awakening every faculty. The history of the past shows an active working devil. He can no more be idle than harmless. Satan was found in ONLY ONE TREE to ENDANGER THE SAFETY of Adam and Eve. He planned to attract the holy pair to THAT ONE TREE, that they might do the VERY THING Elohim HAD SAID THEY SHOULD NOT DO---EAT OF THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE...

If men would STAND THE TEST WHICH ADAM FAILED TO ENDURE, and would, IN THE STRENGTH OF Y'hoshua, OBEY ALL THE REQUIREMENTS of Elohim, because they are RIGHTEOUSNESS, then they would never become acquainted with the objectionable knowledge. Elohim never designed that men should have this KNOWLEDGE WHICH COMES OF DISOBEDIENCE, and which, carried into practice, ends in eternal death. When men almost invariably choose the knowledge that Satan presents; when their taste is so perverted that it craves that knowledge as though it were a fountain of supreme wisdom, then they give evidence that they are separated from Elohim, and are in rebellion against the Messiah. Our Counselor impressed deeply on our minds that Elohim's commandment-keeping people must be sanctified through the truth and that truth must ever be given the foremost place. We must not forget that Satan still lives to exercise his deceptive power through FALSE SCIENCE. Testimonies for the Church Volume Nine PAGE 69

"There are many ways of PRACTICING THE HEALING ART, but there is ONLY ONE WAY THAT HEAVEN APPROVES. Elohim'S REMEDIES are the SIMPLE AGENCIES OF NATURE... Testimonies for the Church Vol. 5, p. 443

It is not a denial of faith to use such remedies as Elohim has provided to alleviate pain and to aid nature in her work of restoration....WE SHOULD EMPLOY EVERY FACILITY FOR THE RESTORATION OF HEALTH, TAKING EVERY ADVANTAGE POSSIBLE, WORKING IN HARMONY WITH NATURAL LAWS.--Ministry of Healing, pp. 231, 232

"SPURIOUS SCIENTIFIC THEORIES are coming in as a thief in the night, stealing away the landmarks and undermining the pillars of our faith. ...You know that SATAN WILL COME IN to deceive if possible the very elect. "As they follow RIGHT METHODS in their treatment of the sick, those methods will come to be recognized as preferable to the methods which many have been accustomed to, which demand the use of poisonous drugs." Testimonies for the Church Vol. 9 p. 175, 176

"It is Y'hovah's purpose that HIS METHOD of healing WITHOUT DRUGS shall be brought into prominence in every large city through our Medical Institutions." Medical Ministry p. 325

How BEAUTIFUL the earth was when it came from the Creator's hand! Elohim presented before the universe a world in which His all-seeing eye could find no spot or stain, no defect or crookedness. Each PART of His creation occupied the place assigned it, and answered the purpose for which it was created LIKE THE PARTS OF SOME GREAT MACHINE, PART FITTED TO PART, and ALL WAS IN PERFECT HARMONY. Peace and holy joy filled the earth. There was no confusion, no clashing, there was no disease to afflict man or beast, and THE VEGETABLE KINGDOM WAS WITHOUT TAINT OF CORRUPTION. Elohim looked upon the work of His hands, wrought out by the Messiah, and pronounced it "VERY GOOD." He looked upon a PERFECT WORLD, in which there was no trace of sin, NO IMPERFECTION. As the angel from heaven rolled away the stone, the other entered the tomb, and unbound the wrappings from the body of Y'hoshua. But it was the Savior's hand that folded each, and laid it in its place. In His sight who guides alike the star and the atom, there is nothing unimportant. Elohim is a Elohim of ORDER, everything connected with Heaven is in PERFECT ORDER; subjection and thorough discipline mark the movements of the Angelic Host. Success can only attend ORDER and HARMONIOUS ACTION. Elohim requires ORDER and SYSTEM in His work now no less than in the days of Israel. All who are working for Him are to labor INTELLIGENTLY, not in a careless, haphazard manner. He would have His work done with FAITH and EXACTNESS, that He may place the SEAL OF HIS APPROVAL on it. There is nothing that the great deceiver fears so much as that we shall become ACQUAINTED with his devices. Spirit of Prophecy Vol. 4, p. 335

Should the people read and believe these admonitions, we could have little hope of overcoming them. But if we can divert their attention from these warnings, they will REMAIN IGNORANT of our power and cunning and we shall secure them in our ranks at last. Elohim will not permit His words to be slighted with impunity. Spirit of Prophecy Vol. 4, p. 340

Satan gathered the fallen angels together to devise some way of doing the most possible evil to the human family. One proposition after another was made, till finally Satan himself thought of a plan. He would take the FRUIT OF THE VINE, also WHEAT, and OTHER THINGS given by Elohim as FOOD, and would CONVERT THEM INTO POISONS, which would RUIN man's PHYSICAL, MENTAL, and MORAL POWERS, and so overcome the SENSES that Satan should have full control. Temperance p. 12

The same Elohim who GUIDES THE PLANETS WORKS IN THE FRUIT ORCHARD and in the VEGETABLE GARDEN, HE NEVER MADE A THORN, A THISTLE OR A TARE, these are Satan's work, the result of DEGENERATION, introduced by him among the PRECIOUS THINGS; Testimonies for the Church Vol. 6, p. 186

Not one noxious plant was placed in Y'hovah's great garden, but after Adam and Eve sinned, poisonous herbs sprang up. In the parable of the sower the question was asked the Master, "Didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? how then hath it tares?" The Master answered, "An enemy hath done this." All tares are sown by the evil one. Every noxious herb is of his sowing, and by his INGENIOUS METHODS OF AMALGAMATION he has corrupted the earth with tares. S.D.A. Bible Commentary Vol. 1, p. 1086

Concerning the works of men, by the WORD OF THY LIPS I have kept me from the PATHS OF THE DESTROYER. Psalms 17:4

Ye shall keep my statutes, Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with MINGLED SEED: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woolen come upon thee. Leviticus 19:19

Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spew you not out.
And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them. Leviticus 20:22, 23

Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with DIVERS SEEDS: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be DEFILED.
Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together.
Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together. Deuteronomy 22:9-11

"The CRISIS is just before us when each will need much strength from Elohim in order to stand against the wiles of Satan, for his deceptions will come in EVERY CONCEIVABLE FORM. Those who have allowed themselves to be the sport of Satan's temptations WILL BE UNPREPARED then to take the right side. Their IDEAS will be CONFUSED so that they CANNOT DISCERN BETWEEN THE DIVINE AND THE SATANIC." Testimonies for the Church V5 p 479

While they trust to the guidance of human authority, none will come to a SAVING knowledge of the TRUTH. The Desire of Ages p. 141

We should not take the testimony of any man as to what the Scriptures teach, but should study the words of Elohim for ourselves. Steps to the Messiah p. 89

The opposition and misrepresentation of the priests and rulers, while it could not turn them away from the Messiah, still caused them great perplexity. They did not see their way clearly. The INFLUENCE of their early training, the teaching of the rabbis, the power of tradition, still intercepted their view of TRUTH.  The Desire of Ages p. 412

Those to whom the message of TRUTH is spoken seldom ask, "Is it true?" but, "By whom is it advocated?" Multitudes estimate it by the numbers who accept it; and the question is still asked, "Have any of the learned men or religious leaders believed?" Men are no more favorable to real Elohimliness now than in the days of The Messiah. They are just as intently seeking earthly good, to the neglect of eternal riches; AND IT IS NOT AN ARGUMENT AGAINST THE TRUTH, that large numbers are not ready to accept it, or that it is not received by the world's great men, or even by the religious leaders. The Desire of Ages p. 459, 460

Every human being will have to give an account to Elohim for the way in which he has used his ENTRUSTED TALENTS. We are under obligation to use our powers aright that we may be qualified for eternal life in the kingdom of Elohim. Elohim DEMANDS PERFECTION FROM EVERY HUMAN BEING. We are to BE PERFECT IN THIS LIFE OF HUMANITY, even as Elohim IS PERFECT in HIS DIVINE CHARACTER.

It was a great sacrifice The Messiah made for man in dying for him upon the cross. What are we willing to sacrifice for His love? Y'hoshua says, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15)--NOT TO SELECT out one or two or nine, but the WHOLE TEN--ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS MUST BE KEPT. John tell us of those who pretend to love but do not obey Elohim's requirements. "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him: (1 John 2:4). "For this is the love of Elohim, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous" (chap. 5:3)... Y'hoshua was among the lowly of the earth. He did not take His position by the side of the learned rabbis or the rulers. He was not found among the potentates of earth, but among the lowly ones. The TRUTH was NEVER FOUND AMONG THE MAJORITY. IT WAS EVER FOUND AMONG THE MINORITY. This day with Elohim p. 318, 319

There is danger that men will receive the counsel of men, when by so doing they will discard the counsel of Elohim. Oh, what lessons all must learn before they will understand that Elohim seeth not as man seeth. Y'hovah says: "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways....For as the heavens are higher that the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8,9. Unless there is a decided reformation among the people of Elohim, He will turn His face from them. Testimonies for the Church Vol. 8, p. 146

As the Light and Life of men was rejected by the ecclesiastical authorities in the days of The Messiah, so it has been rejected in every succeeding generation. Again and again the history of The Messiah's withdrawal from Judea has been repeated. When the Reformers preached the Word of Elohim, they had no thought of separating themselves from the established church; but the religious leaders would not tolerate the light, and those that bore it were forced to seek another class, who were longing for the truth. In our day few of the professed followers of the Reformers are actuated by their spirit. Few are listening for the voice of Elohim, and ready to accept truth in whatever guise it may be presented. Often those who follow in the steps of the Reformers are forced to turn away from the churches they love, in order to declare the plain teaching of the Word of Elohim. And many times those who are seeking for light are by the same teaching obliged to leave the church of their fathers, that they may render obedience. The Desire of Ages p. 232

In preparing the way for The Messiah's first advent, he was a representative of those who are to prepare a people for Y'hovah's second coming. The world is given to self-indulgence. Errors and fables abound. Satan's snares for destroying souls are multiplied. All who would perfect holiness in the fear of Elohim must learn the lessons of temperance and self-control. The appetites and passions must be held in subjection to the higher powers of the mind. This self-discipline is essential to that mental strength and spiritual insight which will enable us to understand and to practice the sacred truths of Elohim's word. For this reason temperance finds its place in the work of preparation for The Messiah's second coming. The Desire of Ages p. 101

We are to bear testimony of the great truths which Elohim has committed to us. The Sanctuary in Heaven is the very center of The Messiah's work in behalf of men. It concerns every soul living upon the earth. It opens to our view the plan of redemption, bringing us down to the very close of time, and revealing the triumphant issue of the contest between righteousness and sin. It is of the utmost importance that all who have received the light, both old and young, should thoroughly investigate these subjects, and be able to give an answer to every one that asketh them a reason of the hope that is in them.

The intercession of The Messiah in man's behalf in the Sanctuary above is as essential to the plan of salvation as was His death upon the cross...and through His mediation the sincere desire of all who come to Him in faith may be presented before Elohim. Spirit of Prophecy Vol. 4, p. 313, 314

The prophets wrote more for our time than their own--Never are we absent from the mind of Elohim. Elohim is our joy and our salvation. Each of the ancient prophets spoke less for their own time than for ours, so that their prophesying is in force for us. "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples; and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 1 Cor. 12:11. "Not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from Heaven; which things the angels desire to look into." The trials of the children of Israel, and their attitude just before the first coming of The Messiah, have been presented before me again and again to illustrate the position of the people of Elohim in their experience before the second coming of The Messiah. How the enemy sought every occasion to take control of the minds of the Jews, and to-day he is seeking to blind the minds of Elohim's servants, that they may not be able to discern the PRECIOUS TRUTH. Internal corruption will bring the denunciations of Elohim upon this people as it did upon Jerusalem. Selected Messages Vol. 2, page 378, pr.03

There has not been so glaring a departure from Elohim. It was gradual, and they KNOW NOT THE TIME WHEN Elohim LEFT THEM, FOR THEY WERE SO ASSIMILATED TO THE WORLD THAT HEAVEN'S LIGHT WAS WITHDRAWN, and they are left blind, wretched, and naked. The effort to unite the teachings of Y'hoshua with the established religion would be vain...The instrumentalities to be used in the gospel work are those souls who gladly receive the light which Elohim sends them. These are His agencies for imparting the knowledge of truth to the world. If through the grace of The Messiah His people will become new bottles, He will fill them with new wine. The Desire of Ages. p. 279

These Pharisees had not accepted the mission of the Baptist. They had pointed in scorn to his abstemious life, his simple habits, his coarse garments, and had declared him a fanatic. The Desire of Ages p. 275

The SPIRIT OF PERSECUTION will not be excited against those who have no connection with Elohim, and so have no moral strength. It will be aroused against the FAITHFUL ONES, who MAKE NO CONCESSIONS TO THE WORLD and WILL NOT BE SWAYED BY ITS OPINIONS, ITS FAVOR, OR ITS OPPOSITION. A religion that bears a living testimony in favor of holiness, and that rebukes pride, selfishness, avarice, and fashionable sins, will be hated by the world and by superficial Yahdians.... When you suffer reproach and persecution you are in excellent company; for Y'hoshua endured it all, and much more. If you are faithful sentinels for Elohim, these things are a compliment to you. IT IS THE HEROIC SOULS, WHO WILL BE TRUE IF THEY STAND ALONE, WHO WILL WIN THE IMPERISHABLE CROWN.   Youth's Instructor, May 28, 1884.

If the workers will HUMBLE THEIR HEARTS BEFORE Elohim, the blessing will come. They will all the while be receiving fresh, new ideas, and there will be a wonderful revival of GOSPEL MEDICAL MISSIONARY WORK. Testimonies for the Church V9 p. 219

From the opening of the great controversy in Heaven, SATAN HAS MAINTAINED HIS CAUSE THROUGH DECEPTION; and The Messiah HAS BEEN WORKING TO UNVEIL HIS SCHEMES AND TO BREAK HIS POWER. It is He who has encountered the deceiver, and who through all the ages has been seeking to wrest the captives from his grasp, who will pass judgment upon every soul. The Desire of Ages p. 210

Evil influences have conspired to counterwork ALL good. They have confederated to make men THINK it righteous to oppose the LAW of JEHOVAH. Testimonies for the Church Vol. 6, p. 237

Some will prove to be traitors, heady, high-minded, and self-sufficient, and will turn away from the TRUTH, making shipwreck of faith. Why? - Because they did not live "by EVERY WORD that proceedeth from the mouth of Elohim." Testimonies for the Church Vol. 6, p. 132

Whatever is clearly established by the Word of Elohim we should accept, without attempting to meet every doubt which Satan may suggest. In Heavenly Places p. 105

Obedience to Elohim's law in every respect would save men from intemperance, licentiousness, and disease of every type. NO ONE can violate NATURAL LAW without suffering the penalty. Temperance p. 228

Ignorance is no excuse now for the transgression of law. The LIGHT shines clearly, and none need be ignorant for the Great Elohim Himself is man's Instructor. All are bound by the most sacred obligations to Elohim to heed the sound philosophy and genuine experience which He is now giving them in reference to HEALTH REFORM. He designs that the great subject of HEALTH REFORM shall be AGITATED, and the PUBLIC MIND DEEPLY STIRRED TO INVESTIGATE; for it is impossible for men and women, with all their sinful health-destroying, BRAIN-ENERVATING HABITS, to DISCERN SACRED TRUTH, through which they are to be SANCTIFIED, REFINED, ELEVATED, AND MADE FIT for the SOCIETY OF HEAVENLY ANGELS in the KINGDOM OF GLORY. Had men ever been obedient to the LAW OF TEN COMMANDMENTS, carrying out in their lives the PRINCIPLES OF THESE TEN PRECEPTS, the CURSE OF DISEASE now flooding the world WOULD NOT BE. Men and women cannot violate NATURAL LAW in the indulgence of depraved appetite, and lustful passions, and not VIOLATE THE LAW OF Elohim. Therefore, Elohim HAS PERMITTED THE LIGHT OF HEALTH REFORM TO SHINE UPON US, THAT WE MAY SEE OUR SIN IN VIOLATING THE LAWS Elohim HAS ESTABLISHED IN OUR BEING. ALL OUR ENJOYMENTS OR SUFFERINGS MAY BE TRACED TO OBEDIENCE OR TRANSGRESSION OF NATURAL LAW. Our gracious Heavenly Father sees the deplorable condition of men while living in violation of the Laws He has established. Many are doing this ignorantly, some knowingly. Y'hovah, IN LOVE AND PITY TO THE RACE, CAUSES THE LIGHT TO SHINE UPON HEALTH REFORM. He publishes His Law, and the penalty that will follow the transgression of it, that ALL MAY LEARN, AND BE CAREFUL TO LIVE IN HARMONY WITH, NATURAL LAW. HE PROCLAIMS HIS LAW SO DISTINCTLY AND MAKES IT SO PROMINENT, THAT IT IS LIKE A CITY SET ON A HILL. ALL ACCOUNTABLE BEINGS CAN UNDERSTAND HIS LAW, IF THEY WILL. IDIOTS WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE. As we near the close of time, we must RISE HIGHER AND STILL HIGHER upon the question of HEALTH REFORM and YAHDIAN TEMPERANCE, presenting it in a more positive and decided manner. Testimonies for the Church Vol. 6, p. 112

How opposed is all this to the work that must be accomplished in us just previous to receiving the gift of immortality. Elohim's elect must stand untainted amid the corruptions teeming around them in these last days. Their BODIES must be MADE HOLY, their SPIRITS PURE. If this work is to be accomplished, it must be UNDERTAKEN AT ONCE, EARNESTLY and UNDERSTANDINGLY. Maranatha p.119

The human organism is the handiwork of Elohim. The organs employed in all the different functions of the body were made by Him. Y'hovah gives us food and drink, that the wants of the body may be supplied. He has given the earth different properties adapted to the growth of food for His children. He gives the sunshine and the showers, the early and the latter rain. He forms the clouds and sends the dew. All are His gifts...

But all these blessings will not restore in us His moral image unless we cooperate with Him, making PAINSTAKING EFFORTS to KNOW OURSELVES, to UNDERSTAND HOW to CARE for the delicate human machinery. Man must DILIGENTLY help to KEEP himself in HARMONY with NATURE'S LAWS. He who COOPERATES WITH Elohim in the work of keeping this wonderful machinery in order, who consecrates all his.powers to Elohim, seeking intelligently to obey the LAWS OF NATURE, stands in his Elohim-GIVEN MANHOOD, and is recorded in the books of heaven as a MAN. In Heavenly Places p. 157 For Elohim speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. Job 34:14

Many, under different circumstances have listened to the voices of the inhabitants of other worlds. They have come to act a part in this life. They have spoken in assemblies, and opened before assemblies human histories, and have done works which it was impossible for human agencies to do. Time and again have they been the generals of armies. They have been sent forth to cleanse away pestilence. they have eaten at the humble board of families. Often they have appeared as weary travelers in need of shelter for the night. The Upward Look, page 84, pr. 04

Just to the degree in which the word of Elohim is received and obeyed will it impress with its potency and touch with its life every spring of action, every phase of character. It will purify every thought, regulate every desire. Ministry of Healing p.136

It is written was His reason for every act that varied from the family customs... His strict obedience to the Law of Elohim they condemned as stubbornness. The Desire of Ages p. 86

If the Bible were studied as it should be, men would become STRONG in INTELLECT. The subjects treated upon in the WORD of Elohim, the DIGNIFIED SIMPLICITY of ITS UTTERANCE, the NOBLE THEMES which IT PRESENTS TO THE MIND, develop FACULTIES in man which CANNOT OTHERWISE be developed. In the Bible, a boundless field of opened for the imagination. The student will come from a contemplation of its grand themes, from association with its lofty imagery, more pure and elevated in thought and feeling than if he had spent the time in reading any work of mere human origin, ...

Elohim would have us avail ourselves of every means of CULTIVATING and STRENGTHENING OUR INTELLECTUAL POWERS. We were created for a HIGHER, NOBLER EXISTENCE THAN THE LIFE THAT NOW IS. THIS TIME is one of PREPARATION FOR THE FUTURE, IMMORTAL LIFE. ...These TRUTHS will do a MIGHTY WORK for man, if he will but FOLLOW WHAT THEY TEACH. But how little the Bible is studied! Every unimportant thing is dwelt upon in preference to its themes. If the Bible were read more, if its TRUTHS were better understood, we should be a far more ENLIGHTENED AND INTELLIGENT PEOPLE. ANGELS from the WORLD of LIGHT stand by the side of the EARNEST SEEKER AFTER TRUTH, to IMPRESS and ILLUMINATE his mind. He who is dark of understanding may find LIGHT through an ACQUAINTANCE with THE SCRIPTURES. Fundamentals of Yahdian Education. p. 165, 166

Y'hoshua had come to teach the meaning of the worship of Elohim, and He could not sanction the mingling of human requirements with the divine precepts. They urged Him to receive the maxims and traditions that had been handed down from the ancient rabbis, but He asked for their authority in Holy writ, He would hear every word that proceeds from the mouth of Elohim; but He could not obey the inventions of men. And not even love and respect for His parents could turn Him from obedience to Elohim's word. It is written was His reason. The Desire of Ages p. 84,85

With the same carefulness are we to treasure the bread from heaven to satisfy the needs of the soul. By every word of Elohim we are to live. Nothing that Elohim has spoken is to be lost. Not one word that concerns our eternal salvation are we to neglect. Not one word is to fall useless to the ground. Ministry of Healing p. 48

Before accepting any doctrine or precept, we should demand A PLAIN "Thus saith Y'hovah" in its support. Spirit of Prophecy Vol. 4, p. 413.

In the presence of the witnessing Universe, He testified that it is a less calamity to suffer whatever may befall than to depart in any manner from the will of Elohim, "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of Elohim." The Desire of Ages p 121

While He did not give countenance to drug medication, HE SANCTIONED THE USE OF SIMPLE AND NATURAL REMEDIES. The Desire of Ages p. 824

But that which is greater than all miracles, a firm reliance upon a "Thus saith Y'hovah", was a sign that could not be controverted. The Desire of Ages p. 120

His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Psalm 91:4

Of all the lessons to be learned from Y'hoshua's first great temptation, none is more important than that bearing upon thecontrol of the appetites and passions... His example declares that our only hope of eternal life is through bringing the appetites and passions into subjection to the will of Elohim. The Desire of Ages p. 122

While The Messiah accepted invitations to feasts and gatherings, He did not partake of all the food offered Him, but quietly ate of that which was appropriate for His physical necessities, avoiding the many things that He did not need. His disciples were frequently invited with Him, and His conduct was a lesson to them, teaching them not to indulge appetite by overeating or by eating improper food. He showed them that portions of the food provided could be passed by, and portions chosen.

The Messiah went to these feasts because He wished to show those who were excluding themselves from the society of their fellowman, how wrong their course of action was, He wished to teach them that truth was given to be imparted to those who had it not. If they had truth, why keep it selfishly to themselves. The world is perishing for want of the living truth. Manuscript Releases, Vol. 7, page 412, pr. 01

(To Dear Brethren and Sisters of St. Helena, California) Dated Feb 18,1905 Health is an inestimable blessing, and one which is more closely related to conscience and religion than many realize. It has a great deal to do with one's capability. Every minister should feel that if he would be a faithful guardian of the flock, he must preserve all his powers in condition for the best possible service. Our workers should use their knowledge of the laws of life and health. Read the best authors on these subjects, and OBEY RELIGIOUSLY that which your REASON tells you is TRUTH. Gospel Workers p. 242

Never yield the truth to please anyone; be decided, be fixed, be established, be not of a doubtful mind. Spiritual Gifts, Vol. 4, p. 206

To all hygienic reformers I would say, Live up strictly to the convictions of your own enlightened mind. Be not led into indulgence by the entreaties of friends. Live the reform at home; and when you go abroad, carry it with you. Live it, and at proper times, in proper places, and in a proper manner, talk its principles. Never let the opposition or the kind entreaties of friends gain ground on you. Ever hold on your way, and by all proper means labor to impress those around you with the importance of the subject. In your association with unbelievers, do not allow yourselves to be swerved from right principles. If you sit at their table, eat temperately, and only of food that will not confuse the mind. Keep clear of intemperance. You cannot afford to weaken your mental or physical powers, lest you become unable to discern spiritual things. Keep your mind in such a condition that Elohim can impress it with the precious truth of His Word. Testimonies for the Church Vol. 6 p. 336

There is nothing more calculated to strengthen the intellect than a study of the Bible. No other book is so potent to elevate the thoughts, to give vigor to the faculties, as the broad, ennobling truths of the Bible. If Elohim's Word were studied as it should be, men would have a breadth of mind, a nobility of character, that is rarely seen in these times. In Heavenly Places p. 135

But the ONLY THING IN OUR WORLD UPON WHICH WE CAN RELY IS THE WORD OF Elohim. The Desire of Ages p.121

ANYTHING that LESSENS PHYSICAL STRENGTH ENFEEBLES THE MIND and makes it LESS CAPABLE OF DISCRIMINATING BETWEEN RIGHT AND WRONG. The Messiah's Object Lessons p. 346

Transgression of PHYSICAL LAW is transgression of the MORAL LAW; for Elohim is the Author of PHYSICAL LAWS as He is The Author of The MORAL LAW. The Messiah's Object Lessons p. 347

Elohim has placed it in our power to obtain a knowledge of the laws of health. He has made it our DUTY to preserve our physical powers in the BEST possible condition, that we may render to Him acceptable service. Those who refuse to improve the light and knowledge that has been mercifully placed within their reach, are rejecting one of the MEANS which Elohim has granted them to promote spiritual as well as physical life. They are placing themselves where they will be exposed to the delusions of Satan. Testimonies for the Church Vol. 5, p. 193

And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of Y'hovah is his TREASURE. Isaiah 33:6

LIVING WATERS-A DREAM

My husband attended meetings in New Hampshire and Maine. During his absence I was much troubled, fearing he might take the cholera, which was then prevailing. But one night I dreamed that while many around us were dying with the cholera, my husband proposed that we should take a walk. In our walk I noticed that his eyes looked bloodshot, his countenance flushed, and his lips pale. I told him that I feared that he would be an easy subject for the cholera.
Said he, "Walk on a little further, and I will show you a sure remedy for the cholera."
As we walked on, we came to a bridge over a stream of water, when he abruptly left me and plunged out of sight into the water. I was frightened; but he soon arose, holding in his hand a glass of sparkling water. He drank it, saying, "This water cures all manner of diseases." He plunged in again out of sight, brought up another glass of clear water, and as he held it up repeated the same words.
I felt sad that he did not offer me some of the water. In consequence of continual transgression, the moral law was repeated in awful grandeur from Sinai. The Messiah gave to Moses religious precepts which were to govern the everyday life. These statutes were explicitly given to guard the Ten Commandments. They were not shadowy types to pass away with the death of the Messiah. They were to be binding upon man in every age as long as time should last. These commands were enforced by the power of the Moral Law, and they clearly and definitely explained that Law.  Review and Herald Vol. 1, p. 164

They were not to do this from motives of resentment or through wounded dignity, but to show how grievous a thing it is to refuse Y'hoshua's message or His messengers. To reject Y'hoshua's servants is to reject the Messiah Himself.

Our condemnation in the judgment will not result from the fact that we have been in error, but from the fact that we have neglected HEAVEN-SENT OPPORTUNITIES for learning what is TRUTH. The Desire of Ages p. 489, 490

STRICT INTEGRITY should be cherished by every student. Every mind should turn with reverent attention to the REVEALED WORD OF Elohim. LIGHT AND GRACE WILL BE GIVEN to those who thus OBEY Elohim. They will behold WONDROUS THINGS OUT OF HIS LAW. GREAT TRUTHS that have lain unheeded and unseen since the day of Pentecost, are to SHINE from Elohim'S WORD in their NATIVE PURITY. To those who TRULY LOVE Elohim the Holy Spirit will reveal TRUTHS that have faded from the mind, and will also reveal TRUTHS THAT ARE ENTIRELY NEW. Wonderful possibilities are open to those who lay hold of the divine assurances of Elohim's word. There are glorious truths to come before the people of Elohim. Privileges and duties which they do not even suspect to be in the Bible will be laid open before them. As they follow on in the PATH OF HUMBLE OBEDIENCE, DOING HIS WILL, they will know more and more of the oracles of Elohim....

In Heavenly Places p. 136 That there was to be SPECIAL LIGHT for Elohim's people as they neared the closing scenes of this earth's history. ANOTHER ANGEL was to come from Heaven with a MESSAGE, and THE WHOLE EARTH WAS TO BE LIGHTENED WITH HIS GLORY. It would be impossible for us to state just how this ADDITIONAL LIGHT would come. It might come in a very unexpected manner, in a way that would not agree with the ideas that many have conceived. Elohim requires all who believe the truth to make SPECIAL, PERSEVERING EFFORTS to place themselves in the BEST POSSIBLE CONDITION of bodily health, for a solemn and important work is before us. Health of body and mind is required for this work; it is as essential to a healthy religious experience, to advancement in the Yahdian life, and progress in HOLINESS, as is the hand or foot to the human body. Elohim requires His people to CLEANSE THEMSELVES from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of Y'hovah. All those who are indifferent and excuse themselves from this WORK, waiting for Y'hovah to do for them that which He REQUIRES THEM TO DO FOR THEMSELVES, will be found wanting when the meek of the earth, who have wrought HIS JUDGMENTS, are hid in the day of Y'hovah's anger.

I was shown that if Elohim'S PEOPLE make no efforts on their part, but wait for THE REFRESHING to come upon them and remove their wrongs and correct their errors; if they depend upon that to CLEANSE THEM from filthiness of the flesh and spirit, and fit them to engage in the LOUD CRY OF THE THIRD ANGEL, they will be found wanting. IN THE MANIFESTATION OF THE POWER THAT LIGHTENS THE EARTH WITH ITS GLORY, they will see only SOMETHING which in their blindness THEY THINK DANGEROUS, SOMETHING WHICH WILL AROUSE THEIR FEARS, and they will brace themselves to resist it. Because Y'hovah does not work according to their expectations and ideas, they will oppose the work. The GOSPEL OF HEALTH has able advocates, but their work has been made very hard because so many ministers, presidents of conferences, and others in positions of influence, have failed to give the question of HEALTH REFORM its proper attention. The great enemy knows that if appetite and passion predominate, the HEALTH OF BODY and STRENGTH OF INTELLECT are sacrificed upon the altar of self-gratification, and man is brought to speedy ruin. Many professed health reformers are nothing less than gluttons. They lay upon the digestive organs so great a burden that the VITALITY of the system is exhausted in the effort to dispose of it. It also has a depressing influence upon the intellect, for the BRAIN NERVE POWER is called upon to ASSIST the stomach in its work. Overeating, even of the simplest food, BENUMBS the sensitive nerves of the brain and weakens its VITALITY. Many of us suffer from chronic stomach upsets, poor appetite, muscle cramps or joint pains--or other persisting ailments that seem to have no cause. Surprisingly often, gluten intolerance--an inability to digest a gluten protein found mainly in WHEAT and to a lesser extent in OTHER GRAINS--is the cause, and may also be the predisposing factor in some grave health conditions.

BIO-ENERGETICS
Photosynthesis-Calorimetry-Oxidation-Energetics of Muscular Contraction-Fatigue.

ENERGY, or the CAPACITY TO DO WORK, is an underlying cause of all VITAL phenomena. ENERGETICS concerns itself with the transformations of ENERGY from one form to another without loss or destruction (Law of Conservation of ENERGY or First Law of Thermodynamics) and with its natural tendency to become transformed into LOW POTENTIAL TYPES WHICH ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR PERFORMANCE OF WORK (Second Law of Thermodynamics). The measure of this WASTED ENERGY is called entropy. ENERGY EXISTS IN KINETIC AND POTENTIAL FORMS. The former represents ENERGY IN ACTION, as in PRODUCING MOTION OR WORK; the latter is STORED OR RESTING ENERGY which may, however, be released and converted into kinetic forms by application of a small amount of kinetic ENERGY. Thus, the POTENTIAL ENERGY of a resting muscle produces considerable KINETIC ENERGY of contraction upon application of a small ELECTRIC shock.

ENERGY has both intensity and capacity components; for example, the work obtainable from a falling object depends both on the distance of fall and on the mass that drops.

Practically all the ENERGY released by living bodies is derived from the potential ENERGY of their FOOD CONSTITUENTS. The amount of these substances available represents the capacity factor, and the chemical affinities of the several substances,

i.e., their chemical potentials, determine the intensity factor. In the breakdown of substances, ENERGY is either RELEASED (EXOTHERMIC reactions) or is ABSORBED from its surrounding medium (ENDOTHERMIC reactions).

... ENERGY is stored up much as ELECTRICITY is in storage   batteries, and it may be discharged at any time to do work and evolve heat as a side product. Oxygenation has no part in the process and only comes into play in the recovery processes that may be compared to RECHARGING OF A BATTERY. Thus, the real ENERGY of combustion is equivalent to that of the ELECTRIC CURRENT.

...Consequently, the CAPACITY FOR WORK in living tissue is not measured by the TOTAL STORE of ENERGY, but only by that part which can be made FREE.

It is most convenient to measure the ENERGY set free in terms of ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL. ...Hence, we speak of the magnitude of the potential difference between two such systems as the oxidation-reduction potential.

The Mechanisms of Oxidation--ENERGY can be derived from food-stuffs either by splitting them into simpler components or by oxidizing them. The first process is called fermentation and the second, oxidation. Fermentation is a simpler and more primitive, but also a more wasteful, process, since much of the ENERGY remains in the final breakdown products (e.g., lactic acid, alcohol). In more complex organisms, oxidation is added to conserve the ENERGY value of foodstuffs. Thus, while cells of the lowest phylogenetic group can live without oxygen, it has been known ever since the discovery by Lavoisier (1777) that animal life is contingent upon the availability of oxygen. Such oxidation does not occur through direct combination of organic substances with molecular oxygen; it is accomplished only through intervention of COMPLEX OXIDATION-REDUCTION SYSTEMS...

At first, the term oxidation was used solely to connote the addition of oxygen to molecules, but later it became necessary to extend it to withdrawal of hydrogen ions. With increasing insight into the forces at work, the concept broadened to include any TEARING AWAY OF ELECTRONS. Thus, oxidation can occur without addition of oxygen or subtraction of hydrogen, e.g., when ferrous iron (Fe++) is oxidized to ferric iron (Fe+++). In its fundamental aspects, OXIDATION implies the release of ENERGY through TRANSFER OF ELECTRONS FROM FOODSTUFFS, first to systems that can receive them directly and from them, by a series of oxidation-reduction systems, to oxygen itself (Clark, Guzman Barron). The sequence of events concerned in oxidation begins with the removal of H ions from a substrate through action of an enzyme, dehydrogenase, in the presence of a coenzyme, usually a pyridine nucleotide. Ultimately the energy of the body is derived from oxidation of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, and the end products of their complete oxidation are carbon dioxide, water, nitrogen, sulfur, and phosphorus compounds. Carbon dioxide is eliminated almost entirely by the lungs, the end products of protein metabolism largely by the urine, while water is excreted in varying amounts by the urine, skin, and lungs.

Nitrogen Balance.-The intake of nitrogen can be calculated approximately with the knowledge that average proteins eaten contain 16 per cent nitrogen, i.e., 1 gram nitrogen per 6.25 grams protein. The NITROGENOUS END PRODUCTS OF PROTEIN METABOLISM are excreted in small amounts in the sweat, and, in women, are lost in the menstrual flow and lacteal secretion also. Exceedingly small portions are lost by desquamating epidermis or are deposited as inert nitrogen in dermal appendages and hair. Somewhat less than 10 per cent is ordinarily eliminated by secretions of the gastro-intestinal tract and lost with the feces, while about 90 PER CENT IS ORDINARILY EXCRETED AS UREA, ammonia, creatinine, purines, etc., in the urine.

This blood is collected by converging veins of increasing diameter, which form the portal vein and is then again distributed to a second set of capillaries in the liver before returning to the heart.

The bile channels, in addition, offer a means of excreting nitrogenous waste products and provide A PATHWAY FOR ELIMINATION OF MANY TOXIC SUBSTANCES AND POISONS. ENERGY METABOLISM

ENERGY is involved in every body activity. The beating of the heart, the digestion and the absorption of food, the building and repair of tissue cannot occur without ENERGY. In fact, THE VERY ORGANIZATION OF EACH LIVING CELL DEPENDS ON complicated chemical reactions that require A CONSTANT SUPPLY OF ENERGY. WITHOUT ENERGY, THERE IS DISORGANIZATION OF CELLS, ILLNESS, AND DEATH. THUS THE ENERGY NEEDS OF THE BODY MUST TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER ALL OTHERS.

To supply the constant demand for ENERGY, nature has devised an ingenious process, call bio-logic oxidation, that enables one to procure ENERGY from food without burning up body tissue at the same time. Because of the catalytic action of intracellular enzymes, food can be burned at low temperatures which are compatible with the life of the cell. Bio-logic oxidation is a stepwise process that has been compared with the orderly progression of a boat through a series of locks in a river, rather than plunging over the falls.

Bio-logic oxidations are similar to other types of oxidation in that there is a loss of ELECTRONS, either by combination with oxygen or, more commonly, by the removal of hydrogens. The transfer of these hydrogens, or their ELECTRONS, through intermediary acceptors and ultimately to oxygen, yields the ENERGY released by cellular oxidations. The biochemical agents involved in these reactions are enzymes, coenzymes, and hydrogen acceptors.

The enzymes that make possible the removal of hydrogen from a substrate are dehydrogenases, while those that act on oxygen and cause it to ultimately take part in the ELECTRON-TRANSPORT SYSTEM (p. 419) are called oxidases. Certain coenzymes such as nicotinamide dinucleotide (NAD) can be alternately reduced and oxidized and act as hydrogen acceptors or as hydrogen donors. NAD accepts hydrogens from a metabolite, becoming NADH(2), transfers the hydrogens to other hydrogen acceptors, and returns to its original oxidized state, NAD.

As illustrated in Figure 17-4, the end products of digestion may ultimately be oxidized by way of the citric acid cycle and the ELECTRON TRANSPORT SYSTEM (p. 419). In addition to CO(2) and H(2)O, a tremendous amount of ENERGY is liberated. Much of this ENERGY is stored temporarily in the HIGH-ENERGY phosphate bonds of ATP (p.418), and the remainder helps to maintain normal body temperature.

ATP frequently is compared to a cocked and loaded gun in that it is always ready to fire and release its ENERGY when needed by the cells. In Chapter 4 we discussed the utilization of the ENERGY derived from ATP during muscle contraction, but this is only a small part of the total picture. ATP is found in every living cell, where it provides the ENERGY required not only for mechanical work, but also for chemical work, such as the building and repair of protoplasm.

Carbohydrates, fats, and proteins all contain STORED ENERGY that can be transferred to ATP following bio-logic oxidation in the citric acid cycle and the ELECTRON-TRANSPORT SYSTEM. This POTENTIAL ENERGY value of food is referred to as the caloric, or heat value. A large calorie, abbreviated Cal., is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of 1 Kg. (2.2 lbs.) of water 1 degree C.

Carbohydrates are very easily burned, and they serve as a quick source of ENERGY. Each gram of carbohydrate releases 4 Cal. of heat when it is oxidized. Fats have an even higher caloric value as they yield 9 Cal. per gm. when oxidized. Under normal conditions, only a relatively small amount of protein is used to supply ENERGY, but each gram yields 4 Cal. on oxidation. When food intake is severely restricted, as in starvation, the oxidation of body protein is of major importance. Since ENERGY needs take precedence over all others, the very protoplasm of the cells is oxidized to meet those needs. It is obvious that death will be the ultimate result if food intake is not resumed. p. 414, 415

The anaerobic phase of carbohydrate metabolism includes both the utilization and the production of ATP, as well as the transfer of hydrogens and their energy to the hydrogen acceptor, NAD.
ENERGY becomes available for heat or for ATP production as the hydrogens, or their ELECTRONS, are transported through the ELECTRON TRANSPORT SYSTEM. p. 418

It is believed that the target cells for most hormones have   highly specific receptor sites in their outer limiting membranes. This specificity of receptor sites determines which hormones will affect which target cells. For example, receptor sites in cells in the thyroid gland recognize thyroid stimulating hormone and bind it to the sites; other hormones that may be in the bloodstream are not so recognized, thus they have no effect on the thyroid cells.

The binding of a hormone to its receptor site may in some way increase the activity of an enzyme (adenyl cyclase) within the cell membrane. AS A RESULT, CYTOPLASMIC ATP ON THE INNER SIDE OF THE MEMBRANE IS CONVERTED TO CYCLIC AMP which then orders the cell to respond in a characteristic way. In the case of a thyroid gland cell, the result would be secretion of thyroid hormone. In a liver cell, cyclic AMP might order the conversion of glycogen into glucose, but in the kidney it might increase the permeability of a renal tubular cell to water. Several hormones (e.g., insulin) may lower the cellular level of cyclic AMP, but the mechanism whereby they do this is uncertain.

In summary, hormones serve as the first messengers as they travel from their cell of origin to the cells in their target tissues. Here the hormones alter the intracellular level of cyclic AMP which serves as the second messenger as it does the work of the hormones within the target cells. Cyclic AMP mediates many of the actions of a great variety of hormones and regulates the release of most, or possibly all, of the others. Cyclic AMP is inactivated by the enzyme phosphodiesterase. p. 472, 473

Cyclic-AMP (c-AMP) acts as a chemical messenger to regulate enzyme activity within the cells that store carbohydrate and fat.
Without cyclic-AMP the activity of all the enzymes working at maximum speed within the cells would soon create chaos. It also appears that an INADEQUATE SUPPLY OF CYCLIC-AMP CAN LEAD TO ONE TYPE OF UNCONTROLLED CELL GROWTH WHICH WE CALL CANCER.
Cyclic-AMP is present in almost every type of body cell to the extent of about one part per million. IT IS PRODUCED THROUGH THE ACTIVITY OF THE ENZYME ADENYLATE CYCLASE (found in the membranes of the cell walls) ON ATP.
When a hormone, a chemical messenger, reaches its target cell, it interacts with the cell membrane and triggers the production or release of the E prostaglandins, which in turn activate the enzyme adenylate cyclase, causing the production of more cyclic-AMP. This cyclic-AMP, diffusing into the cell, acts as a messenger and instructs the cell to respond to the hormone in a certain characteristic manner.

Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) has an utterly central role in energy metabolism and, therefore, in biology. This concept, now fundamental to any biochemist's credo, seems to be surprisingly recent. Adenosine triphosphate was not known until 1929. p. 1 Adenosine triphosphate is present in most cells in substantial amounts, and its concentrations are higher than those of other purine or pyrimidine nucleotides. p. 4

The utilization of ATP by metabolic processes (biochemical syntheses, membrane transport, muscle contraction, etc.) involves the cleavage of the polyphosphate region of the ATP molecule. p. 9

Mechanisms of ATP Utilization

Adenosine triphosphate is consumed by a huge variety of bio-logical processes, and it would be a tall order indeed to discuss the details of ATP utilization in anything approaching a comprehensive manner. In this chapter we consider a few representative examples of different kinds of systems that utilize ATP. Those to be discussed include Na+-K+-ATPase as a representative of the transport ATPases, myosin ATPase to illustrate the means of utilization of ATP chemical bond energy for mechanical work, and hexokinase as a good example of the thoroughly investigated and relatively well understood enzymes of intermediary metabolism that consume ATP.

SODIUM-POTASSIUM ATPase

This enzyme is responsible for the transport of Na+ from cells and the concomitant transport of K+ from the outside to the inside. Since both of these transport processes are against a concentration gradient, energy is required, and this is provided by the hydrolysis of ATP. Active transport of Na+ and K+ consumes a very significant fraction of the ATP that is produced by most animal cells. It is fundamental for the maintenance of cell volume, the excitability of nerves, and absorption processes in specialized tissues such as kidney and intestine. In the kidney which is responsible for excretion of excess Na+ into the urine while retaining K+ in the filtered blood, OVER ONE-HALF OF THE ATP THAT IS GENERATED BY CATABOLIC PROCESSES IS CONSUMED BY THE ACTION OF RENAL Na+-K+-ATPase.

As would be expected, the Na+-K+-ATPase molecule is a component of the plasma membrane of animal cells. The enzyme has been studied, usually following solubilization by means of detergent, from a variety of sources. These include, in particular, Na+-K+-ATPase from the renal medulla and brain, tissues that are rich in this activity because of their physiological function. Also, students of Na+-K+-ATPase have taken advantage of the exceptionally high levels of enzyme that are found in specialized organs such as the ELECTRIC ORGAN OF THE EEL, Electophorus electicus. p. 41-42

Adenosine triphosphate is incorporated into RNA together with GTP, UTP, and CTP by several RNA polymerases; each of the several species of RNA of course has its own rate of synthesis and of turnover. In addition, some RNA species terminate in sizable polyadenylate stretches. The actual amount of ATP that is represented by the adenylate moiety of RNA considerably exceeds the amount of free ATP in cells.

For incorporation into DNA, the ribose of ATP must be converted to 2'-deoxyribose. This process is catalyzed by the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase, which uses ADP as substrate and forms deoxy-ADP as product. This is then converted to deoxy-ATP, which can then be incorporated into DNA. As with RNA, the amount of the (deoxy)adenylate moiety of DNA exceeds the amount both of ATP and deoxy-ATP in cells. In addition, concentrations of ATP are in excess of those of deoxy-ATP by 500-1000-fold in many cells. p. 115

Comment by Lenny-"This explains the need of energy to have strong genes, and how vital force is transmitted to offspring, as energy contained in genes (in the adenylate moiety-ATP as stored in the DNA molecule-superabundantly exceeds cellular ATP levels ), energy supplying the initial cellular organization and division and multiplication of the individual, it also gives a model of how energy is needed for genetic strength and integrity to resist disease, cancer causing agents, and how a lack of cellular ATP weakens DNA bonds allowing the cancer virus to easily restructure.

Diet

Dietary components may potentially influence ATP concentrations in three ways: (1) phosphorylation of adenylate and ADP may be affected by caloric intake and dephosphorylation, by the need to phosphorylate various food constituents; (2) the concentrations of substrates for de novo synthesis of purines may be affected by diet; and (3) the purine constituents of the diet, whether at the nucleic acid or low-molecular-weight level, might be converted to ATP and elevate its concentration.

It may be difficult if not impossible to distinguish between the first two points from an experimental point of view, inasmuch as both carbohydrates (PP-ribose-P) and amino acids are required for de novo synthesis. It is of interest, however that a diet that severely retarded the growth of rats was found to have no effect on the ATP content of skeletal muscle. In contrast, another study showed that in rats fasted for 18-40 hours, the rate of purine biosynthesis de novo was reduced by approximately 65 percent. These rates partially recovered soon after feeding an amino acid mixture.
The older literature on the effect of diet on purine biosynthesis de novo has been reviewed. These studies may be summarized briefly as follows: (1) In uricotelic animals there is a direct relation between the dietary intake of nitrogen and the rate of purine biosynthesis leading to uric acid production and excretion. (2) In ureotelic animals there is some evidence that high protein diets stimulate uric acid or allantoin synthesis; however, this point remains controversial. (3) Though high carbohydrate diets lead to increased uric acid excretion in humans, it is not clear whether this is due to stimulation of purine biosynthesis de novo or to an effect on the renal excretion of uric acid.

Recent studies have shown that a dietary deficiency of arginine in rats produces a marked decrease in liver ATP concentrations. The chain of events seems to be as follows:
arginine deficiency leads to growth retardation, to increased portal and peripheral blood ammonia, and to elevated concentrations of ammonia and glutamine in liver; the latter observations suggest that the urea cycle is unable to completely channel excess nitrogen into urea biosynthesis. Increased concentrations of ammonia, glutamine, or both then promote the increased synthesis of carbamyl phosphate, and this leads to accelerated pyrimidine biosynthesis de novo.

Sufficient excess orotic acid is formed to saturate the orotate phosphoribosyltransferase reaction leading to a 230 percent increase in the concentrations of pyrimidine nucleotides and urinary excretion of still more orotic acid. The utilization of PP-ribose-P by this accelerated pyrimidine nucleotide synthesis apparently reduces the availability of this essential substrate for purine biosynthesis, and as a result, ATP concentrations are reduced to 24 percent of control values.

The purine constituents of the diet, whether at the nucleic or free nucleotide level, might be converted to ATP. There is no question that the purine content of the diet influences serum uric acid concentrations and urinary uric acid excretion in humans; however, there is no evidence to suggest that cellular ATP concentrations are altered by dietary purines. In early studies, N-labeled RNA was fed to rats, and it was found that about 1 percent of the nucleic acid purines of the combined viscera was derived from the dietary material. In other studies, in which nonradioactive or N-labeled RNA was fed to human subjects, there were indications that a small amount of dietary purine might have been retained in the tissues; this, of course, could not be tested directly. More recently it was shown that feeding RNA did not alter the rate of purine biosynthesis de novo in humans, and it was concluded that tissue concentrations of inhibitory purine bases or nucleotides were not substantially elevated following ingestion of RNA. p. 118-119

ATP and the Nervous System

Adenosine triphosphate and adenosine derived from it have a variety of effects in and on both the peripheral and central nervous systems. Peripherally, ATP has been proposed as a neurotransmitter in a class of nerves called purinergic, although this concept still remains controversial. Both adenosine and ATP can also modulate peripheral pre- and postsynaptic receptors. Centrally, ATP, adenosine, or both have been studied from several points of views as possible neurotransmitters; as regulators of neural excitability; and for their effects on transmitter release, receptor sensitivity, and behavior. p. 122

Regulation of Blood Flow

Among the various factors that influence the coronary vasculature are chemical factors that serve as links between the oxygen needs of cardiac parenchymal tissue and the supply of oxygen through the blood. One of the principal mediators of coronary blood flow regulation in response to cardiac metabolic activity is adenosine.

The source of this adenosine is ATP, but vasoactive amounts of adenosine can be formed from changes in ATP concentration that are too small to measure accurately. The extent to which adenosine arises from AMP through 5'-nucleotidase, from S-adenosylhomocysteine; or even from cAMP still is not clear, and there is, in fact, evidence that at least two different adenine nucleotide compartments of the heart serve as precursors for the formation of adenosine; the intercellular or intracellular basis of such compartmentation is not known at present. The compartment that produces the regulatory adenosine may differ under normoxic and hypoxic conditions. Exactly how adenosine elicits relaxation of the coronary vascular smooth muscles is still unknown.

There is also evidence that adenosine may play a role in vasoregulation in skeletal muscles as well; however, this is less certain and it is possible that it is important under some conditions but not others. For example, adenosine concentrations are elevated during ischemic exercise, but not during exercise under normoxic conditions.

Secretable Storage Pools of ATP

Platelets contain two types of granule, one of which, the "dense granules," contain ATP and ADP as well as serotonin and other constituents. These nucleotides are not in ready equilibrium with the active metabolic pool of ATP, but presumably enter or are inserted into the storage granules at some early stage in the production of platelets. Secretion of Serotonin is accompanied by the release of ADP and ATP; however, these are very rapidly cleared from the blood. The function of intragranular ATP may be related to the storage of serotonin.
Adenosine triphosphate is also stored in the vesicles or granules responsible for storing acetylcholine and catecholamines.
Thus the adrenal medullary chromaffin granules, sympathetic nerve vesicles, and cholinergic vesicles all contain ATP in addition to neurotransmitters; this is discharged, at least in part, during release of the catecholamines or acetylcholine. In contrast with platelets, ATP can be taken up relatively easily into these granules and vesicles, but it is then lost only rather slowly. p. 123

Electric shock treatment of rat brain also produced a breakdown in ATP, with a transient rise in the concentration of adenylate, followed by a rise in ammonia and in inosinate. p. 128

BIOCHEMISTRY I

Comparison of the reduction of mitochondrial respiratory chain components with the oxygenation of myoglobin in perfused heart or enzyme activities such as urate oxidase in perfused liver show that the two decrease in parallel despite very different in vitro oxygen dependencies. Although this has also been interpreted as evidence for steep oxygen diffusion gradients which result in oxygen concentrations at the mitochondrion being much lower than that in the cytosol, such oxygen gradients would require oxygen diffusion constants only 1% of the value for normal saline, much lower than would be expected to exist for the cell cytoplasm.

The oxygen dependence of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase shown in fig.12 and expressed mathematically in the rate expression are entirely consistent with this enzyme being the primary tissue oxygen concentration increased of decreased the resulting modulation of the cellular energy (ATP/ADP/Pi) could provide the metabolic message that increased or decreased supplies of oxygen are needed. Exactly how this message is communicated to the vascular system. remains to be established.

Summarizing it can be said that mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation is of central importance to higher organisms because it is responsible for providing most of the metabolic energy (as ATP) which is required for their survival. Catabolism of organic substrates which reach the cell occurs in two phases. In the first, the substrates (sugars, amino acids and fatty acids) are degraded to 2-4 carbon units; in the second, (the tricarboxylic acid cycle) these smaller units are oxidized completely to CO2.

The oxidative steps in each phase involve enzymatic transfer of reducing equivalents from the catabolite to the intracellular pool of oxidation-reduction coenzymes, primarily NAD and flavins. The mitochondrial respiratory chain is concerned with reoxidation of these coenzymes, by using the reducing equivalents to reduce molecular oxygen to water. The NAD couple has an oxidation-reduction potential near -0.28 volts relative to a standard hydrogen electrode while the oxygen reaction is near 0.82 volts relative to a standard hydrogen electrode. The electron transfer process thus occurs across a potential span of 1.1 volts and is highly exergonic. A large fraction (70-80%) of this energy is conserved by using it to drive the endergonic synthesis of ATP.

The mitochondrial respiratory chain consists of several oxidation-reduction components and functions as an ordered sequence of reactions with energy conservation occurring at three discrete sites. These energy conservation sites are called sites I, II, and III, numbering from the more negative to the more positive end of the reaction sequence. In keeping with this observation three moles of ATP, one for each site, are synthesized for each two reducing equivalents transferred from NADH to molecular oxygen.

The enzymes of oxidative phosphorylation are an integral part of the inner mitochondrial membrane and ATP is synthesized on the inner side of this membrane (matrix space) and then translocated across the membrane (in exchange for ADP) to the cytoplasm where most of the ATP requiring reactions are located.
