World Book Encyclopedia B- page 2, BAAL, BAY ul, was the name of
an ancient god worshiped by the Hebrews. The word means lord, or
master.
Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia 1995-BAAL. The Semitic word
baal, meaning owner or master, was also used in ancient religions
for lord or god, and it is still defined as a Canaanite or
Phoenician deity. Among the greatest of the Semitic peoples'
deities were Baal and Astarte--both symbols of fertility. Baal,
the god of the sun, was supposed to make crops grow and flocks
increase. Astarte, the goddess of the moon, was identified with
passionate love.
Early Writings page 211 & 212 - It was presented before me in
the following manner: A large company of heathen idolaters bore a
black banner, upon which were figures of the sun, moon, and

final conflict, in which all the world will act a part. Men have
honored Satan's principles above the priciples that rule in the
heavens. They have accepted the spurious sabbath, which Satan has
exalted as the sign of his authority. But ___ (Yahweh Elohym) has
set His Seal upon His Royal Requirement. Each Sabbath
institution, both True and false, bears The Name of its Author,
an INEFFACEABLE MARK that shows the authority of each. The great
decision now to be made by every one is, whether he will receive
the mark of the beast and his image, or THE SEAL OF THE LIVING
AND TRUE (ELOHYM). And now, when we are on the very borders of
the eternal world, what can be of so much value to us as to be
found loyal and true to the (Elohym) of Heaven? What is there
that we should prize above His Truth and His Law? What is so
necessary as a knowledge of "what saith the Scripture?"

Yahweh, thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor
thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant,
nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; For in
six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in
them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yahweh blessed the

Testimonies to The Church Volume 3, page 267 Those who receive
the Pure Mark of Truth, wrought in them by the power of the Holy
Ghost (Yahweh El Shaddai), represented by a Mark by the Man in
linen, are those "that sigh and that cry for all the
abominations that be done" in the church.
