Sharp, clear conceptions of truth will never be the reward of indolence.
Investigation of every point that has been received as truth will richly
repay the searcher in finding precious gems. In closely investigating every
jot and tittle which we think is established truth beyond controversy, in
comparing Scripture with Scripture, searching to see if there is no flaw in
their interpretation, errors may be discovered. Christ would have the
searcher of the Scriptures sink the shaft down deeper into the mines of
truth. If the search is properly conducted, precious jewels of inestimable
value will be found. The word of God is the mine of the unsearchable riches

The Jews tried to stop the proclamation of the message that had been
predicted in the word of God; but prophecy must be fulfilled. The Lord says,
"Behold, I send you Elijah the prophet, before the coming of the great and
dreadful day of the Lord." Somebody is to come in the spirit and power of
Elijah, and when he appears, men may say, "You are too earnest, you do not
interpret the Scriptures in the proper way. Let me tell you how to teach your
message."

There are many who cannot distinguish between the work of God and that
of man. I shall tell the truth as God gives it to me, and I say now, If you
continue to find fault, to have a spirit of variance, you will never know the
truth. Jesus said to his disciples, "I have yet many things to say unto you,
but ye cannot bear them now." They were not in a condition to appreciate
sacred and eternal things; but Jesus promised to send the Comforter, who
would teach them all things, and bring all things to their remembrance,
whatsoever he had said unto them. Brethren, we must not put our dependence in
man. "Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he
to be accounted of?" You must hang your helpless souls upon Jesus. It does
not become us to drink from the fountain of the valley, when there is a
fountain in the mountain. Let us leave the lower streams; let us come to the
higher springs. If there is a point of truth that you do not understand, upon
which you do not agree, investigate, compare scripture with scripture, sink
the shaft of truth down deep into the mine of God's word. You must lay
yourselves and your opinions on the altar of God, put away your preconceived
ideas, and let the Spirit of Heaven guide you into all truth.

I asked the meaning of the shaking I had seen and
was shown that it would be caused by the straight
testimony called forth by the counsel of the True
Witness to the Laodiceans. This will have its effect
upon the heart of the receiver, and will lead him to
exalt the standard and pour forth the straight truth.
Some will not bear this straight testimony. They will
rise up against it, and this is what will cause a shaking
among God's people.

We may have a good degree of confidence in our own
judgment, yet we want to have counselors; for "in the
multitude of counselors there is safety." We desire that
our course should look consistent to those we love, and
we wish to seek their counsel and have them able to give
it with a clear brain. But what care we for your judgment
if your brain nerve power has been taxed to the utmost
and the vitality withdrawn from the brain to take care of
the improper food placed in your stomachs, or of an enormous
quantity of even healthful food? What care we for
the judgment of such persons? They see through a mass of
undigested food. Therefore your course of living affects
us. It is impossible for you to pursue any wrong course

Why do some of our ministering brethren manifest so little interest in health reform?--It is because instruction on temperance in all things is opposed to their practice of self-indulgence. YOU MUST LAY YOURSELVES AND YOUR OPINIONS ON THE ALTAR OF ELOHYM, PUT AWAY YOUR PRECONCEIVED IDEAS, AND LET THE SPIRIT OF HEAVEN GUIDE INTO ALL TRUTH-(EMeT-alef-mem-tav, the mark of truth).Tav means "Mark" truth spelled in Hebrew is alef-mem-tav, the first letter the exact center letter, and the last letter. Only Hebrew is the perfect language, which was spoken by men who were living a ways distant from the tower of babel, according the The Divine Will, and whose language was left as the original language in those who were not of the rebellion of the tower of babel.
