The
Ark
of the
Covenant

 

 

Remember the sanctuary served "unto the example and shadow of heavenly things." Hebrews 8:5

In heaven the great Lawgiver has a sacred place for His majestic law. Law is the foundation of every government. In this secret place of the most High is the Ten Commandments (the Covenant-Ex 34:28), and the Book of the Covenant (Ex 24:7) on the side of the Ark of the Covenant, also in the secret place is the diet reformation principles; the golden pot of manna, a symbol of what is picked from the ground. And Aaron's rod that budded, a symbol of what is picked from the trees.

John in the book of Revelation describes the candlestick representing the seven spirits of Elohim "before the throne." Revelation 1:4. But later on the scene changes, somewhere in time the throne moved and is no longer on the sides of the north, not in the first apartment, but in the Most Holy place, for John saw sometime in the future "the golden altar... before the throne." Revelation 8:3.

The crown on the Ark is symbolic of a throne. The Son pleads "before Him". "Surely the Master YAHUWAH will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets." Amos 3:7

Daniel also saw this great movement in the heavens, and describes it thus, "I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, Whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head like the pure wool: His throne was like the fiery flame, and His wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him: thousand thousands ministered unto Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.... I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought Him near before Him." Daniel 7:9,10,13

Seventh-day Adventists are the only group that even offer an explanation of this movement of the throne in heaven. The stars fell from heaven all night on November 13, 1833. It was so bright that you could read a book for the brightness. This was ten years before William Miller had placed the time for the end of the world. The prophecies all fit. The reign of the papacy was from 538 to 1798, the 1260 years of the cruel "Dark Ages" of religious persecution. No the prophecies were not a mistake. On the 1843 chart at the bottom, it says, "Daniel will stand up in his lot at the Resurrection end of the days." That is the end of the 1335 days of Daniel 12:12,13. Daniel himself was not resurrected in 1843! But what most people fail to see is that this was all a "type" of the end of the world. William Miller the early American reformer lifted up his voice like a trumpet shewing the people their sins (Isaiah 58:1), which was a fulfillment of the "type" of the Feast of Trumpets, which is preparatory to the Day of Atonement. The Feast of Trumpets is for exactly ten days, in this case ten years. Therefore let us understand the words of Ellen G. White, "I have seen that the 1843 chart was directed by the hand of [YAHUWAH], and that it should not be altered; that the figures were as He wanted them; that His hand was over and hid a mistake in some of the figures, so that none could see it, until His hand was removed." Early Writings p.75

We are told in the book of Revelation that Palmoni (the wonderful numberer) will cause the book of Daniel, the book that was sealed, but is now open, to "prophecy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings." Revelation 10:8,11.

However we shall not clearly see the future, unless we see the "types" that were before us. Let him that readeth understand, "In the Scriptures are presented truths that relate especially to our own time. To the period just prior to the appearing of the Son of man, the prophecies of Scripture point, and here their warnings and threatenings pre-eminently apply. The prophetic periods of Daniel, extending to the very eve of the great consummation, throw a flood of light upon events then to transpire." Advent Review & Sabbath Herald, September 25, 1883 (When Daniel will stand in the Restirrection at the end of those days).

William Miller was declaring the exact message he was supposed to give, YAHUSHUA came to the "sanctuary" in fulfillment of Malachi 3:2, "The Master whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple." Typical of the work of the high priest on the Day of Atonement, the only time that he would go into the secret place and make an atonement for the people. This is what our High Priest went to do, "to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy." Daniel 9:24

He is also maliing His law more and more known and understood, so that His people will be sealed, ready for the great day of Judgment.

At the end of the 2300 years (from 457 Before Messiah to 1844 of the common era) YAHUSHUA, the Son of Man (our advocate - a human in heaven), came to the Ancient of days (the Father) in the Holy of Holies, and the sanctuary began to be cleansed, typical of the work of the high priest on the Day of Atonement. But, there are still "types" to be fulfilled. The blessing has not yet been pronounced upon Israel. Azazel (Satan the scapegoat) has not yet been chained and bound in a desolate wilderness, which this world will be turned into at the coming of YAHUSHUA (Isaiah 24 & 25).

On the great Judgment day these types will find complete fulfillment. "Then commenced the jubilee, when the land should rest." Early Writings p.35,286
