The Savior of the world had no controversy with Satan, who was expelled from heaven because he was no longer worthy of a place there. He who could INFLUENCE THE ANGELS OF ELOHIM against their Supreme Ruler, and against His Son, their loved Commander, and enlist their sympathy for himself, WAS CAPABLE OF ANY DECEPTION.

Deuteronomy 22:9-Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.

Many are the temptations and besetments on every side to ruin the prospects of young men, both for this world and the next. But THE ONLY PATH OF SAFETY IS for young and old to live in STRICT CONFORMITY to the principles of PHYSICAL and MORAL LAW. The PATH OF OBEDIENCE is the ONLY PATH that leads to Heaven.

No amount of money can buy a single victory over the temptations of Satan. But that which money is valueless to obtain, which is integrity, determined effort, and moral power, will, through the name of the Messiah, obtain noble victories upon the point of appetite. ...And it is a certainty that unless we do overcome as the Messiah overcame we cannot have a seat with Him upon His throne. Those who in the face of light and truth destroy mental, moral, and physical health by indulgence of ANY kind will lose heaven. They sacrifice their Elohim-given POWERS to idols.
...Those who make determined efforts in the name of the Conqueror to overcome every unnatural craving of appetite will not die in the conflict. In their efforts to control appetite they are placing themselves in right relation to life, so that they may enjoy health and the FAVOR OF ELOHIM and have a right hold on the immortal life.

He put forth his strongest efforts to overcome the Messiah on the point of appetite, who endured the keenest pangs of hunger. The victory gained was designed, not only to set an example to those who have fallen under the power of appetite but to qualify the Redeemer for His special work of reaching to the very depths of human woe. By experiencing in Himself the strength of Satan's temptation, and of human sufferings and infirmities, He would know how to succor those who should put forth efforts to help themselves.

The great enemy knows that if appetite and passion predominate, the HEALTH OF BODY and STRENGTH OF INTELLECT are sacrificed upon the altar of self-gratification, and man is brought to speedy ruin. If ENLIGHTENED INTELLECT HOLDS THE REINS, CONTROLLING ANIMAL PROPENSITIES AND KEEPING THEM IN SUBJECTION TO THE MORAL POWERS, Satan well knows that his power to overcome with his temptations is very small.

The days are fast approaching when there will be great perplexity and confusion. Satan, clothed in angel robes, will deceive, if possible, the very elect. There will be gods many and lords many. Every wind of doctrine will be blowing. Those who have rendered supreme homage to "science falsely so-called," will not be the leaders then. Those who have trusted to intellect, genius, or talent, will not then stand at the head of rank and file. They did not keep pace with the light. Those who have proved themselves unfaithful will not then be entrusted with the flock. In the last solemn work few great men will be engaged. They are self-sufficient, independent of Elohim, and He cannot use them. Y'hovah has faithful servants, who in the shaking, testing time will be disclosed to view. There are precious ones now hidden who have not bowed the knee to Baal. They have not had the light which you have had shining in a concentrated blaze in Battle Creek. But, it may be under a rough and uninviting exterior the pure brightness of a genuine Yahdian character will be revealed. In the day-time we look toward heaven, but do not see the stars. They are there, fixed in the firmament, but the eye cannot distinguish them. In the night we behold their genuine lustre.

3 (Mal. 1:13). Every Sacrifice Inspected by Elohim. --It is The Messiah who searches the hearts and tries the reins of the children of men. All things are naked and open before the eyes of Him with whom we have to do, neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight. In the days of ancient Israel the sacrifices brought to the high priest were cut open to the backbone to see if they were sound at heart. So the sacrifices we bring today are laid open before the piercing eye of our great High Priest. He opens and inspects every sacrifice brought by the human race, that He may prove whether it is worthy of being presented to the Father (MS 42, 1901).

This is the message of warning we are to give to our world. In this work we should employ all our energies. The sins which existed in Noah's day exist now, and Elohim calls upon His ministers to carry forward a work of decided reform. He is seeking to lead His people to a higher plane of action. Let the church arise and shine. Let every family practice self-denial, doing all they can to improve their own condition. Those who are truly on Y'hovah's side will be self-denying and self-sacrificing. They will eat and drink to the glory of Elohim, refusing to corrupt soul and body by intemperance. Then the condition of the church will testify that her light has not been removed. But if church members do not act the part Elohim has assigned them, the movement of health reform will go on without them, and it will be seen that Elohim has removed their candlestick out of its place. Those who refuse to receive and practice the light will be left in the background.
